Only 80 ? As the industry formalises, hopeful of good engagement, as vrs look very well positioned with their 2D products. Aimo. Best ellis.

"Partnerships

Relationships and collaborations with industry are central to the National Graphene Institute (NGI) and the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC). Some of the world’s biggest and most influential companies are working with The University of Manchester on graphene applications.

These collaborations offer our industrial partners the opportunity to work alongside our world-leading academics and 300 researchers.

Collaboration

More than 80 companies to date from all over the world have chosen to partner with The University of Manchester to make their graphene ideas a reality. We continue to receive many enquiries from large and small companies to work with us and we want to see how we might collaborate to take those ideas and interests into projects and then products and applications.

With the formation of the GEIC, in addition to the existing range of research projects and collaborations, we now offer a number of tailored partnerships for organisations that wish to have either a short or a deeper and more prolonged engagement than traditional short-term contracts might provide:

Tier 1 partnerships
Tier 2 partnerships
Affiliate partnerships"

@spid so are you saying under the proposed ISO that PureGRAPH will be FLG Graphene and Nanene will be classed as GnP? If so that's quite a bold statement!

VRS trades at a £150m premium to FGR so it's very important that Nanene is at least AS good as PureGRAPH.

------

loglorry,

I spoke to Warwick Grigor yesterday,

I told him how the VRS shareholders (ADVFN) didn't think FGR produced Graphene as it was MLG, He laughed at me and said its under 10 layers. If it was any thicker it would be called graphene nano platelets.

I then explained that VRS stated in the Annual report that their graphene complies with the draft ISO, I am surprised Versarien can claim this when 10% of nanene is 11 layers or more, as you probably know 11+ layers are covered by the draft ISO.

Is it a case of nanene being 90% compliant to the draft ISO ?

GNP = 11 - 150 Layers

NR said today that "Gnanomat" has a patent. That implies one is granted to me. The only one I can find in a patent search is here

Which looks like an application not a grant.

As always very happy to be corrected if I've missed another one or if in fact this is a patent grant.

Can anyone point me to a patent granted to Gnanomat?

It's either 2D graphene or it's 3D graphite per proposed iso defn. Vrs are scaling very soon up to 3 tonne annual capacity with their 2D +nanene. Aimo. Best ellis

"The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) notes, "previously, descriptions such as graphite layers, carbon layers, or carbon sheets have been used for the term graphene...it is incorrect to use for a single layer a term which includes the term graphite, which would imply a three-dimensional structure."

I should add if we break 130p then we head to 155 (50dma) imo.

Macd is now crossing too.

OT or a broader take on the potential markets. Graphene not mentioned but we believe it is used in flexi screens.

The bid dropped rapidly from 127.5p to 123p, so the early rise was snuffed out. Let's hope the buyers steam in again.

Just looking at the volume of today’s individual sells. I believe that they will be new shorts opening on the hope that VRS doesn’t rise above last weeks intraday high. The volume is insignificant and therefore easy to break through with a bit of momentum on the next test.

Imo

Graphene versus graphite. Best ellis.

"Graphene is simply one atomic layer of graphite - a layer of sp2 bonded carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal or honeycomb lattice. Graphite is a commonly found mineral and is composed of many layers of graphene. The structural make-up of both graphene and graphite, and their fabrication methods are slightly different. This article highlights the difference between these two materials.

Graphite Mineral

Graphite is one of the three naturally occurring allotropes of carbon and occurs naturally in metamorphic rock in different parts of the globe, including South America, Asia and some parts of North America. This mineral is formed as a result of the reduction of sedimentary carbon compounds during metamorphism.

The chemical bonds in graphite are similar in strength to those found in diamond. However, the lattice structure of the carbon atoms contributes to the difference in hardness of these two compounds; graphite contains two dimensional lattice bonds, while diamond contains three dimensional lattice bonds. The carbon atoms within each layer of graphite contain weaker intermolecular bonds. This allows the layers to slide across each other, making graphite a soft and malleable material.

Various studies have demonstrated that graphite is an excellent mineral with several unique properties. It conducts heat and electricity and retains the highest natural strength and stiffness even in temperatures exceeding 3600°C. This material is self-lubricating and is also resistant to chemicals.

Although there are different forms of carbon, graphite is highly stable under standard conditions. Depending upon its form, graphite is utilized for a wide range of applications.

Graphene: Wonder Material

Graphene has unique properties that exceed those of graphite. Although graphite is often used to reinforce steel, it cannot be utilized as a structural material on its own because of its sheer planes. In contrast, graphene is the strongest material ever found; it is more than 40 times stronger than diamond and more than 300 times stronger than A36 structural steel.

Since graphite has a planar structure, its electronic, acoustic, and thermal properties are highly anisotropic. This means, phonons pass much more easily along the planes than they do when trying to pass via the planes. However, graphene has very high electron mobility and, like graphite, is a good electrical conductor, due to the occurrence of a free pi (p) electron for each carbon atom."

Totally agree. He's saying it's his duty as CEO to do so. That's quite a different statement.

By the way more lies from SuperG it not the job of each company to enforce or monitor insider trading laws. That's the FCA and Police if fraud. It's just ludicrous to suggest that the 2000 odd AIM company CEOs all have to do it themselves. They can of course report any wrongdoings and have a duty to do so if made aware but I just don't believe they are required to read Advfn. What about all the other BBs?

Ignore the liars and let NR get on with what he does best , it is all part of building a company and word of mouth .

What a lot on here don't seem to understand is that in doing what he does in answering the detractors is the only thing that he can do.

Can you imagine what the bb would be like if he didn't put his view over when being attacked and said nothing?

I know what would happen, the majority would be saying 'why doesn't he do something about it' and the liars would say 'because it's true'

Going back to the T shirt, keep wearing it Neill and keep doing what you are doing , I am happy with your input as are many others I'm sure.
