My guess is spot oil will fall to around 60, after that is the time to buy or not. TLW share price is clearly 'high beta'.

a comment from the Eco lse site
I have have added again this morning. Spoke to a friend of mine at Tullow (said the upper tertiary is monstrous news and very low hanging fruit for Tullow.
it would account for the excitement of GIL in his interview

Following the two discoveries and the opportunity presented by Hammerhead, Orinduik now looks like a big pool of oil traps when looked at with fresh eyes. The data gathered in the last month or so really strengthens our ability to interpret the field for future development – where the real opportunity lies,’ says Holzman.

Gil Holzman sounds very positive about Guyana, if only Tullow were as forthcoming with their PR.

POO could drop further to close the gap on the charts. Statements like that of Prince Abdulaziz feed these type of movements. Other 'optimistic' views also likely to air until that gap closes. At that point, it would be well worth trying to figure out where the true value lies. Quite possibly POO will move north again. Interesting times. Seasonally we should see demand rise into winter.

We'll see. I'm slightly sceptical. A few more snippets from the FT.

.....oil prices fell sharply on Tuesday — dropping more than 7 per cent — after Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s energy minister, said the kingdom had restored half of the lost production and would fully restore output by the end of September.....

.....Four people close to the Saudi Arabian energy ministry cautioned, however, that the energy minister’s statement was optimistic and did not fully account for the severity of the damage at the facility, and appeared to contradict earlier guidance.

.....Russell Hardy, chief executive of Vitol, the world’s largest independent oil trader, told the FT it was unlikely the kingdom could return to full capacity so quickly.

“They won’t get back to normal, but get back to near-normal. What does near-normal mean? Does that mean they are a million barrels a day short, or 2m b/d short?” he said.

oil in the upper tertiary could be produced between 10 or 15 bucks a barrel. only my best guess thats very profitable oil imo

14 or 16:

just as important as the net pay in feet is the areal extent i.e. combined 'acre feet' perm and porosity + other bits and bobs, but especially ACRE feet

joe was never going to be a standalone field its was purely an exploration well in the upper tertiary to see if there was oil there. shallow oil is cheaper and easier to develop we all will be looking out for eco's next updated cpr to see how many more prospects will be added to orinduik PS i wish someone would confirm if its 14 meters or 16 meters

It seems Joe was not as successful as expected, with the oil spike TLW should be this price at least, without yesterday's find, let's hope the next drill hits commercial quantities of recoverable oil.
