Do have a look at the very good link from MSC.

Let's look again at VLSFO.

Storage issues: Once VLSFO was introduced into the market, it was noticed that it was becoming unstable in a matter of weeks. This meant it had a much shorter storage life than previous oils. It would be highly dependent on when the batch of oil had been made. In an article for industry publication, Bunkerspot, this June, a leading oil analyst reported their concerns about the fuel. “VLSFOs test as stable when bunkered but have quickly become unstable, some within only a few weeks indicating their storage lifespan is much shorter than more traditional marine fuels.” This would pose particular risks for vessels on long voyages (such as the Wakashio).

Yet I repeat our fuel appears safe, cheap and efficient.

Let's look at LNG as an alternative.

'There are, however, some safety drawbacks that must be taken into consideration. Many serious tanker fires have occurred in recent years. In March 2017, a Chinese tanker exploded, causing extensive damage to the vessel and the disappearance of three crew members. In another incident, an explosion claimed the lives of five crew members during a mission in central China in 2012.

The LNG tanker Fuwairit, owned by the Japanese shipping company Mitsui OSK lines, leaked vapour into the port of Barcelona in 2015. In Navantia-Ferrol, they had to fix four cracks in the ship’s deck after a valve and a high-level alarm failed simultaneously. At tank No. 1’s top, a “pool of floating LNG had developed, and when it came into contact with salt water, it vaporized, creating a gas cloud that can be seen by the condensation of seawater vapour.

A record number of LNG tankers leave Canada’;s west coastlines every year, en route to destinations as far afield as Europe and Asia. As a result, the vast majority of tankers now traverse narrow waterways and densely populated areas. As a result, the potential dangers of LNG ships in these waters should never be underestimated.'

I really admire MSC .
They are the biggest carrier, anywhere, now, but remain an independent family firm.

They can't be 'bought' by the bigger companies in the sense that they might feel 'obliged' to take up somebody else's fuel, I dare say, but track their own path.

For balance we have to acknowledge that they have said that they believe different furels might be suitable for different uses, but to go to such lengths to try out QED's, says a great deal.

Regardless, none of that changes the fact that somewhere, at the heart of Quadrise, there is a corruption that sees:

(i) share prices routinely spiked in advance of placings,
(ii) retail punters encouraged to buy buy buy buy buy at those inflated prices,
(iii) so that market makers can go short into that demand and then cover their short at a much much lower price in the subsequent placing
(iv) and Quadrise has been routinely doing this year after year after year.

Absolutely not.
No wonder why you're such a bad trader.

It is because of a temporary backlash,in the green emphasis, both in energy and ESG in my opinion.
Again it is because cash was needed, which they made quite clear and is now behind us.

At least I am consistent.

Again I know why it is down just at the moment when you probably don't.

Things never stay the same for long remember.

Creeping up nicely. Once all the "sell some to buy the open offer" lot are done we should move higher. Back to 1.5 by Friday close?
