intothewild - I think you said you had a shade over 100k shares. If you'd sold those at c 85 and bought back at 75, you'd now have 113k. If you then held to the close today, you'd have shares valued at just over £93k, an £8k improvement. Holding throughout you'd actually be down £2k. I call that interesting, but you have to be awake to the possibility. To ignore it, plain foolish. Are you a fool or are you awake?

They're selling their equity shares now....

Oh dear! Well, that answers the question of who the recent seller was, and debunks the notion they'd stopped.

Forwood, why not just write your tea leaf predictions on some A4 and put them in a drawer somwhere. *Yawn.

Great call Forwood! Don't know why you get such flak from other posters? These boards are there for all opinions, short term, long term, bearish, bullish etc. Do you think we might be breaking out from this down channel now?

I don't think the chart commentators have been wrong this past 2 weeks or in major disagreement. I said several times it would fall from it's 88p high, at least to 75, possibly down to the 70s. I got huge flack for that. At c 81p Poohbear thought there might be a pennant pattern (an encouraging sign) but I slightly disagreed in post 18190, noting more a flag pattern (which is also potentially positive) and that I wasn't yet buying.

Eventually the price fell to just under 73. In post 18322 I said it could yet fall to 70/71.5, but was then over sold and would rebound (which is why I started to buy a few). I said that if it went through the 80.5p boundary of the down channel it would invalidate the down channel (and possibly the 70 target). It went up today to 83, so might continue on up, though I am not sure, as it is on a resistance line at 82.3. That is for next week.

Really not. It's totally marginal given the likely end use of burning oil and creating carbon emissions.

It paraphrases a famous Churchill quote.

"If you put two economists in a room, you get two opinions, unless one of them is Lord Keynes, in which case you get three opinions."

In the days of my youth I remember being told by a teacher that if you asked 8 economists for an opinion on something you'd get 9 different answers.

Reading this thread, it seems to me the disciples of charts are in a similar league, although with a greater number of variations, disagreements and prevarications on their respective conclusions.

ps. ngms27 has just received his first uptick from me in a long time.

I've learnt one thing with all this talk and arguing over the predictive movement of PANR's share price...and that is that some predictions by some people are sometimes right some of the time. At other times they're not.

The most successful indicator I've used is called Bargepole. Its never triggered on PANR but has been triggered on 88E amongst others for quite a while.

Kind of you to ask gozo, but am made of sterner stuff! In fact, I've had a very good day :-) If you recall, I said I'd been buying, with a last buy this a.m. at 75.9. Altogether not in huge quantity but enough to make the day rewarding, topped off with a small short on the ftse.

I am a little surprised it went as far, and the downward channel has broken to the upside. Whether that means we're off to the races remains to be seen. Am not yet convinced. Stochastics on the daily have turned up which is good sign, but MACD is still pointing down. The hourly is beginning to look a bit toppy but could go further, so longs should not be unduly concerned. The 82 level was support a few days ago, now resistance, and we're right on it. Will enthusiasm take us over or will there be some profit taking? Perhaps both!

I have to confess, I've never used Andrews pitchfork indicator, so something to look at over the w/e perhaps.

Intermediate channel is ascending. Centreline of the fork around 83p suggests the swing is in full play, you look toward the upper channel next. Then look for horizontal resistance.

So if the descending channel lay at 79-80 and the tip of the pitch fork was at 83.

What lies beyond.. Infinity? (AKA 1.30)
