Forwood, on the daily chart I don't acknowledge a flag, we have gone too deep. I see a pitchfork currently bouncing in the lower channel. Higher low formed, and taking support around the 20ema after a smallish hammer reversal candle yesterday. Currently below the 9sma though, so a little overhead to work on. I wouldn't have a lot of conviction for the current technical position, it appears very half-half to me. But an entry at 75p today was there for the short-term with a RRR 2:1.

7879 - Note that Hilcorp are a private outfit, less beholding to public opinion. However, they would doubtless still prefer to be able to present as environmentally conscious.

Referring to 18328 - the link posted by Gozo above - many thanks! - also links through to articles by, among others, Morgan Stanley, which give a deeper insight into various scenarios for the longer term oil price.
Very interesting reading, and while making predictions about the future can be risky, $90 seems more likely than a fall back to sub $40.

Fact - Green Energy Alaska. PANR is working towards emissions free development & production of oil.
Opinion - I believe that this is an unique selling proposition in the discussions with farm out partners. This USP could, potentially, appease the ESG group of investors, a few of whom are on the BoD of some of the Oil Majors.

Forwood i suggest you plot for 4 hr trend channel and see how the hourly flag is setting up within the channel.
Agree with your analysis, 79-80p before 70p ish and next bull leg.

Thanks. Despite the sceptics, it's always fascinating to hear what TA-ers are seeing and thinking.

As you may have noted above, I've taken a small top up anyway. I've been in PANR since June 2007, and somewhere in my excessive holding I believe there might still be some from a tranche I took at £1.72, so I'm patient if nothing else...

Soggy, I said that this wouldn't go down in a straight line. The hourly indicators were in deep oversold territory, so it was about time we had a little recovery. Until daily MACD is unwound, there is still the risk we go back down within the next 2-3 weeks.

Interesting channel now on the hourly, very much a potential flag but my previous view that we are due to revisit support at 70/71.5, is not yet invalidated. If we bust through that upper channel (around 80.50) then it may invalidate the down side trend.

I'm unsure of the technical position if the flag goes all the way back down to the beginning of the pole - perhaps Metalbee can help on that one?
