lord loads of lolly A takeover is extremely plausible For starters some of OPTIâ€￾S 50 odd partners would love to gobble the company up. They have the advantage of knowing its real value. The time to strike, in any bid situation, is prior to its value being known by others, so you don’t overpay.
That doesn't mean there won't be in the near future. But it also doesn't make takeover talks - and all the other speculative froth suggested by some - any more plausible.
Way too quiet: 3 possible reasons In takeover talks. Signing massive deals. Directors working flat out, getting the job done.
You could look to a buyer. A takeover. Problem there is, they don't want a brand that has zero build up to date They can stick their own massive name on a similar product. .any day they wish really
riskybusiness1 - I agree with most of what you say. Not sure if the following bit was responding to my earlier post? "If you think a corporate is going to value a company solely on its revenues & profits when there is a scramble to enter a mainstream rapidly developing space ahead of its competitors then I can tell you are wrong." My point was that Opti is already valued FAR HIGHER than its revenues & profits. Its annual turnover has yet to hit the £1M mark. And breakeven has yet to be achieved, though it's looking increasingly imminent. So a current valuation of around £57M is already factoring in HUGE growth and taking a lot on trust. I think that's justified, but I really see no chance whatsoever of an imminent takeover. From your opening comment, it looks like you don't either - at least until the microbiome industry becomes more mature.
1nhs - You seem to have a unique ability to put the poop back into nincom. Opti's current £57M valuation already factors in a HUGE amount of future sales & revenue growth. After all, we're unlikely to go much above £2m in sales & breakeven this FY. I know others on here say that PE ratios are meaningless with a company such as this. But assuming you're old enough to remember back that far, that's what everyone said just before the tech bubble burst. I AM positive about Opti's future and I'm also invested here. But I think a dose of realism is essential. If you still choose to believe Opti's currently ripe for takeover at a price way above £57M, all I can say is dream on.
!CHARTS!LTCHART First things first, a big thank you to other thread creators, and posters who know far more about the company than myself. This thread is those who believe the company and investors are currently far to cautious about short, medium, and long term prospects. I now fully expect OPTI to be valued well over ONE BILLION pounds, within the next 48 months, That said, a takeover of the company could prevent this. These are my own personal views and should not be taken as fact. The stock market is all about risk, Do your own research. One can lose up to 100% of any investment. Here is my OPTI profit Forecasts. 2019 - 2020 £4M 2020 - 2021 £8M 2021 - 2022 £16M
Does anyone know the rules governing disclosure of shareholding? Also, when did Finance Yorkshire first make their investment? Was it 2014 into Opti plc, or was it earlier, into Opti Ltd, prior to its takeover by Ducat Ventures? It is the stated aim of FYSCF to sell their seedcorn holding in a 3 to 6 year timeframe. They are, seemingly, the obvious candidate to be selling due to their large stake, their rules, and they are probably still making a profit on that sale. I guess they bought at around 10p. Thoughts?
The dullards are still spouting utter twaddle here. H2 weighted revenues - not hard to understand. It.s not the new train line or an error in the chemical symbol for water. Do us all a favour and trot off to the pub for some geeza talk.O/T I.m going to cry now as another football weekend approaches and the 'mighty' toon will undoubtedly lose once more as another possible takeover us mooted. Ashley is a nssty bit of work.Haway the lads. Out.
Belgrano - good point on potential takeover target and SOHs hold to prevent that happening too early. Plus his strategy for listing different parts of the business, to potentially sell off separately. Again, in the future.
Hi Lolly. Veey fair given our current position. I suppose, if we cleared pharma trials, and also the big potential agri deals proved super positive, we could hit your figs but I need to see bigger, repeated sales etc. We live in hope. I.m so hoping a big deal is around the corner. I.m intrigued by that possible takeover of some minnow. Let.s hold and see but expect a rough ride.
Hi Belgrano ... hope it.s something half decent. Sent ... Regarding TA analysis, I.m quite comfortable using an array of indicators but prefer to use just a few. The important point is looking at different time periods and where you are in the longer term trend. Not gr8 I admit but our sp is twitchy, goes down fast but the opp also applies.Lets see a holdings rns or a small takeover - which, incidentally, must be something interesting. Nematodes, fungi anyone? That biome is interesting. If only, we.d buy some faecal transplant embryonic business ... got legs I think ... gives you the trots ( excuse ths pun. Ecosystems and biome - needs modelling more ...imho of course. GLA
I am normally a glass half-full person when it comes to my investments but not long ago some shareholders were suggesting they would be happy to consider accepting a takeover at around £2 a share. That looks pie in the sky now! A bid at £1 would look good!
It seems as though there are just a few private investors, TW and the bod that now believe in Opti To be perfectly honest at this moment in time I would be quite happy with a takeover at £2+ish Hopefully I will feel differently next week
Guys did you see the Greene king takeover. Far East money from Hong Kong due to thenpounds weakness made the takeover 17% cheaper than before brexit. Expecting a lot of foreign takeovers as Sterling is cheap. For Opti benefits 2 ways - foreign investors getting a bargain via goetz. Medium term they will gain on currency play too. Also most of our revenues are not sterling so when converted back our profit is up 10-15% straight away on same sales due to forex.
Absolutely fantastic to see that 100 people have joined this thread. It seemed to me that only 20 or so actually posted regularly on the other thread so the number of lurkers is very interesting. It shows the potential influence of persistent negative posts is maybe higher than you think. Trolls are a cancer of these boards which I am sure have a negative effect on share prices. In one of my other investments (TLY) I am convinced that persistent lies about their accounts affected the price to such a degree that a long planned key takeover had to be done at a ridiculously low level. It was a tragedy....
The biggest deal struck so far £1m pa and people are upset? Wow. Also goetzpartners seem rather interesting We are engaged as corporate brokers by European (and US / Australian) healthcare companies to advise them on access to international institutional investors, on improving their shareholder structure, on their long-term equity capital markets strategy, and the planning of financing options. We provide an independent, objective first point of contact for the Board and Management when takeover approaches are made, or when spin-off opportunities are being considered.
