20/1/2021 13:17 | Technically speaking, (absolutely) everything is a gamble in this game (and universe) as it implies (potential - ie probabilistic in nature) future outcomes. Only choice one makes is whether one takes (the select few) a "calculated" or a (the majority) "blind" gamble. | tongosti
20/1/2021 11:06 | Bookings are strong, but things need to be moving by easter. They will be spending now to get ready for the "summer" season, aircraft and equipment mothballed made ready, crew who haven't flown for a long time retrained and examined. Big spends. And the governments is non commital and keeps adding another month on ending restrictions- good friday is now being kicked about in the press. It's a well run company but still a gamble at these prices. | tp6
20/1/2021 09:33 | Top market action - haven't gone in today yet as volumes not exactly there. Those who have been in the strange business of preaching daily why JET2 shouldn't have gone up (from those distant 600+ levels) must feel really proud of their "wisdom". Lol. Onwards and upwards JET2! | tongosti
20/1/2021 08:00 | Let's see what today brings fellas. A clean break above 1500 should help the Joes of the world join the party and give the sector another major push for fear of having missed out on the best money making opportunity of the last 12 months. Less than 1 minute to open - have a good day all. | tongosti
19/1/2021 16:57 | Like the fact we closed at the day's high. One day at a time of course but onwards and upwards is the name of the game. Have faith fellas and tune out the noise coming out from the rookies of these boards (who are in the business of barking at the market for envy of not having what it takes to beat it). | tongosti
19/1/2021 16:29 | I have to agree there 100% tiger | castleford tiger
19/1/2021 16:23 | Thanks mate - a bit of luck here and there helps. | tongosti
19/1/2021 14:51 | And out completely fellas. +40 points will do for the day. | tongosti
19/1/2021 14:03 | Relentless rise throughout the day session gents - impressive but not exactly a huge surprise to a few of us on this board. Good luck everyone who's in the fortunate position to be in. | tongosti
19/1/2021 13:41 | 1452 and still going up!! Current year estimated turnover £400m market cap £2.6b Well on the way to 7x turnover........... In the future we trust. Tiger | castleford tiger
19/1/2021 12:54 | In the money right off the bat with stop now set at entry so it's in the house. With a bit of luck we should touch 1500 mark as the next destination. If past that, 1800 is our next milestone. | tongosti
19/1/2021 12:31 | Tiger I appreciate that the carrot is to raise cash - but they can always give it back or offer credits if the anticpated progress on the vaccine / lockdown front is delayed. We expect to have offered everyone over 18 a vaccination by September which will be some achievement and a game changer. Europe may well be behind us - but I am pretty bullish - obviously you're not but that's ok. Suet | suetballs
19/1/2021 12:03 | Thanks pal - I understand. All we can do in this game is control exposure and risk. The rest is up to Mr Market. Let's see if he's feeling generous (or not!) over the next few days. | tongosti
19/1/2021 11:58 | Suet ask yourself why they are offering this carrot? Its to encourage bookings to get some cash into the business. as for the price well the market is nearly always right .......except when a bubble forms.....and the market implodes. Some of the usa stocks are massive bubbles. Problem is good companies come down with those over priced ones. tiger | castleford tiger
19/1/2021 11:37 | Good luck mate... I understand your hypothesis, but I just can't!Fully committed in PIRI and IQAI and HE1 at the moment, | festario
19/1/2021 11:36 | Letter received this am from Heapy containing 4 £25 discount vouchers - must be used by 1st March for all holidays before 31st October 2021. So with the existing discount per person of £100 this would give a total discount of £250 per couple booking before 1st March. Some carrot! But not for me at this stage. Suet | suetballs
19/1/2021 11:30 | Time to get involved - Mr Market tipping its hand off. LONG | tongosti
19/1/2021 09:52 | Looks as if I got it spot at 928 yesterday when I predicted there would be no meaningful tax increases. Treasury minister Jesse Norman has now signalled that is the position as reported in today`s DT. Jet2 up again today. UK consumer spending will be booming going forward. Jet2 heading for new highs in 2021 even with more shares in issue. | legg96
19/1/2021 08:25 | The market is (well, most often than not to be exact) always right. If one thinks it isn't, then it's actually their model of the market that is broken not the other way around. Suet - with you 100%. I have been saying for months that we were discounting late 2021 and beyond and it seems indeed this is the case. JET2 at 1400 as I am writing this | tongosti
19/1/2021 08:13 | Suet I read the article thanks. My opinion is it’s tosh but it’s probably a play on words. Did they not launch around Xmas so maybe comparing first 2 weeks against figures that have no relevance. I challenge anyone to find many customers who are booking now. There will probably be strict rules coming as to who can travel and to where depending on their rates. We might all be jabbed by September but will the Spanish? The lack of control must drive the board mad! | castleford tiger
18/1/2021 23:12 | Tiger I'm only quoting from today's article in the BBC's business news with info supplied by ezj's ceo. I can only assume thay are comparing Jan 2020 figures (ie before the pandemic) with Jan 2021 figures. Suet | suetballs
18/1/2021 22:48 | Suet Bookings were strong in January and February last year. The 250% can only be true if they had NO bookings last year Tiger | castleford tiger
18/1/2021 20:23 | The demand is there - EasyJet Holidays sees summer bookings surge 250% compared to last year. OK all dependent on the vaccines, lockdowns etc but definitely green shoots. Suet | suetballs |
