Suetballs. Good luck and I cannot disagree with you that holding long term is a good strategy with Jet2 where patience should be rewarded. I would like to follow your strategy but I would like a better entry point having disinvested to take profits elsewhere.

I'm happy to hold long term now. Better days are clearly in sight - later this year / nest year? tui managed to raise more capital yesterday and if necessary so can we.
Then we can put the cash into bitcoin and Bob's your uncle.

Still out of Jet2 as for me there are no fundamentals to base the current price on. The only basis for the price is the confidence that Jet2 will come out of this in a strong position, which I do not disagree with. However the time horizons keep moving further out for holidays abroad which will weaken all travel firms and their valuations IMO.

does this hold consolidate continue to look a few years forward and climb..or the possible reality that 21 could be a pretty bad summer and fundamentals suggest a lower market cap while things take shape...

Why won't vaccine passports relieve some of the pressure on travel? They've been negotiating with govt for several weeks and firms have been engaged (by govt) to come up with a workable system using QR scans to confirm vaccinated.

Cruise lines and some airlines are already making it a rule 'vaccinated people only' to be allowed to book. I know there are arguments about creating an unequal system but they will be stifled by people pressure. Can't stop majority population from travelling, concerts, events of all sorts just because of a few who refuse to take vaccines.

Govt is cagey as ever, they say they won't introduce them but heed what they do not what they say imo.

Shorf of some major political or civil unrest I can't see much of a summer season at all. Friends still in employment have talked about easter as the crunch point. If things not moving by then , they expect further redundancies and reorganisation to try and allow the conpany to survive. On the plus side Jet2 will probably survive the longest in terms of cash pile. Tui must be toast without some major miracle.

You can forget April and May.

If June was a start it would be a result in my opinion.

I am also a glass half full on this one chaps. One of the key lessons of history is not to underestimate human ingenuity. Think the virus will be soon(ish) a bad dream and will be contained, going forward. I am encouraged by the fact that the tape seems to validate this thesis as well. One step at a time.

Going to be lots of bigger flies in the vaccine ointment. When things happen that are not know yet. It's an experimental chemical, not even a vaccine because it doesn't stop you getting the virus. illness and deaths will be less now anyway as the virus has already infected lots of the population. My worry is what follows...
SAGE now talk of extending restrictions or even tightening on every new strain ..
