Ridicule

That how MM's work but an MM link was an interesting read.

Bears are not the only ones that borrow stock, MMs do it if they have none and a regular big customer puts an order in. They fill it and then try to balance the books.

EG

If an MM fills an at 40p for stock he hasn't got, then he needs to get the price down to buy the stock lower to make a profit, or at worst break even.

Being Friday and all these recent strong volumes and moves, I suspect books may well need balancing.

Sticking size on the offer then banging in a sell is often an attempt to get PIs to supply the stock they need, so they can close the stock they have on loan with a profit.

Thy guys actually quotes something like that in his comments.

I'll find it.

superg1 My understanding is that SETS will fill a buy order as offered shares appear in the level 2 register until the buy order is completed. This will result in part orders, but this is to ensure maximum speed and liquidity of the market rather than to disguise the size of order.

It could carry over into today Od. However I can't see there was much to talk about.

There is a very easy way to find out later if it has rolled into today.

Hearing does not finish until it is finished. Is it finished might be a good Q.

BTW

Even if Carlisle hadn't turned up, the hearing could still progress as IOF still have to present their evidence. A bit daft as there would be only one outcome but that's the rules.

There is nothing stopping a withdrawal mid hearing, If that happened then yes news would come fairly quickly.

Withdrawal would seem to create a faster conclusion than not appearing.

I must say it's been nice to see a few new posters and old posters that have a firm understanding of trades and the markets.

Unfortunately some new arrival buyers will be herd types with £500 and £1000 bets.

They soon get shaken out, some already I suspect.

Strange stuff. I like to play poker with my cards facing down, not showing everyone them before I bet.

I recall those monster bids way off the price to try and stir things up, silly sods.

Rowan Dartington by the way the 1 mill plus buyer that took it into the 60's.

No idea who was buying through them, but is seemed swiss franc issues for that person as the offload started around the time of that news. So they took a bit of a hit on IOF, I assume they had no cash to cover their portfolio.

Heart your way behind - that 78,400 has been there since the start - obviously someone gambling on a jump in price now trapped but can't sell below 39.75

Heart - that 78,400 (@ 39.75) has been on the book since before open. At the time it was designed to prevent the price rising on open.

Best wishes - Mike

I know heartwells type.

He's lost six times in a row shorting this, to the point now that whatever he says has no weight.

Heartwell, IOF owes you nothing, you are like a dog that keeps coming back to eat its own vomit.

Heart I reckon if it jumps to 40 you'll be out not wanting to take the risk.

I never put anything on the bid, when I want to buy I buy. As the TA folk tell me 37 is support and you are doing your best to scare folk why bother for a £150 squeeze.

I hunting for a decent level 2 site now as to me the timing is right to have that facility for a number of shares.

I was right about my guess on the previous supplier by the way, had it confirmed last night, so that is why it bounced. All based on logic nothing more.

Some of those multi trades are one, you can tell by the way they were broken up.

I've been offered that option before about breaking up a trade to disguise the size, they got a resounding NO and a bit of earache over the suggestion.

Note the 08.03 trades.

They were broken up, perhaps requested by the seller and probably an SB short

sell 3,281 and sell 1,719 = 5000.

Then 2 more 5000 trades alongside.

In other word 4 apparent trades for what was one 15k trade.

Sorry heart though you could afford £300 pp it looks like £150 and a grand total of £1500 to take the position.

Watch out that could mean those X box games you have your eye on may have to go on the back burner. Possibly even a trade-in on the x box if you are not careful.

non existent LSE support on the bid. This will collapse shortly as the selling continues.

In early trading, if one discounts the AT (two way) trades. Only 11 'O' trades were normal the other ten were margin or T trade associated as designated by the 'C' against them. Hardly a firm indication that yesterday went badly, but it would be nice to know just how it went.
