Just warn everyone on here to ignore brexit moron topaz and his investment advice, this is a guy who thought Aston Martin was a blindingly good investment haha.

Bet you wish you’d bought Tesla as I kept telling you ad nauseam on that thread.

What I said last week and why I took profits on IAG unfolding, if you want to buy recovery stocks buy usa, not U.K., buy the Jets etf for airlines and AMC if you want cinemas....I wouldnt touch restaurants pubs etc on either side of the Atlantic apart from Maccy D’s who OWN all their sites.

I have no idea what the Defence Secretary is doing, commenting on travel plans for the UK ?

The rollout says that it will be determined on the 12th April, so let's just wait until the 12th April to see what transpires.

Various ministers providing their own persona views on what will or will not happen is very unhelpful, as can be seen from today's drop and recovery .

Hypotheticals help no one in this situation.

it's bit risky at min pal. Covid cases rising in Europe, it was said yesterday highly unlikely travel abroad will be happening this year, if that is the case, these travel industry stocks will drop. if u rich have loads of cash and u don't mind losing potentially a bit or money maybe hold out and see what happens. I personally sold, if travelling is likely to resume and things start looking better I will just buy back.

AZ vaccine interim trial in USA shows 79% efficacy against symptomatic COVID and 100% efficacy against severe COVID or hospitalisation. Huge news against COVID. This will alleviate some travel concerns as soon as EU gets its inoculation program on track.

Sold holdings, lost the tips of my fingers but I can't see International travel until the world sorts themselves out; the vaccine should be a world wide effort. This is after all world war 3 against the virus! All the best of luck folk.

A few panic sellers feeling a bit ill this morning. Non-news, just to let the city boys and those who don't blindly follow the news load up before the next rerate. If travel was going to be off this year this should be 20-25% down today, not...6%

Get into RTN, the upper end pub and restaurant chain. Could be an amazing year if everyone is staying at home this year. Got to celebrate all those missed birthdays somewhere!!!

montynj...

During the opening auction, the opening price UT (Uncrossing Trade) is continuously calculated.
If the opening UT price will be more than 5% different than the previous day’s close then the opening auction is extended by 5 minutes.

Opened about 8% down

If the EU ban exports of their vaccines then expect the UK to ban travel to mainland Europe for the entire summer, to hit their tourist industries hard

and so we should retaliate, the EU is just junk now

obviously the UK was the one keeping the ship afloat when it was a member of this pitiful cartel

Another area Breaking News.... UK will ban German and French cars by not encouraging adverts and social media negative news and showing a large number of people not buying German or French cars due to EU trying to blackmail UK on AZN vaccine as they try to delay the rollout success in UK ... interesting times ahead!!

As fears of a third COVID-19 wave mount and British holidaymakers brace themselves for a second year without a break abroad, all eyes are on Europe.Despite the success of the UK's vaccine roll-out programme - with half of all adults having received a jab - there are fears that travelling abroad may bring people into contact with other variants of the virus, sabotaging gains made so far.And in a continuing war of words, the EU has threatened to block exports of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to countries outside the EU - including the UK - in a bid to make sure there are enough left for its citizens.

1,800 Britons died from road traffic accidents in 2019.
That's about 5 deaths a day.
33 Covid deaths today

Well Sundays figures are always lower BUT there is no doubt that the numbers are falling rapidly.
It would be helpful if the positive tests dropped by the same amount .

They will never be able to justify continuing with this lockdown or even blocking foreign travel for those who have been vaccinated.

The pressure will be substantial.

AND let's not forget, WHO says this is all because of fish and nothing to do with the Chinese !!!!
Yeah right.

And unless theres a vote of no confidence/leadership challenge, nothing MP's can do. All the lemmings over at the Labour/LD party would follow the government over a cliff if they said follow me.
