A certain amount of trade is crucial to health. We need food, medical supplies and enough wealth to sustain us. Thanks to vaccines, the chances of now being poorly from covid are far less than other considerations. One stat we dont seem to get is new patients in hospital. We know 4000 vivid patients are in hospitals but how many new ones are we now getting. Many of those 4000 have been in hospital for weeks, possibly months. It was up at 70000 at peak

and the point of testing someone 48hrs 'after' arrival is what exactly ????

Well I don't agree with what's happening at that school but I do think there will be substantial pushback if GOV tries to extend this even further.

Having said that, I wouldn't trust BoJo with getting the drinks in , let alone anything else.

Well they're talking about testing all lorry drivers entering the country....Madness when the numbers are a needle in a haystack now.Read the other day some business leader was embarrassed how little business leaders/groups in this country have rolled over.They should be camped outside Downing street like those fanatics around the Yorkshire school.

There is no doubt in my mind, that if UK GOV does not allow international flights (with testing etc) then the airlines will just take he risk themselves.

And I further suspect, that people will also book flights.
It will then be up to various governments to arrest the people concerned ,close airports and impound aircraft.

Oh and of course stop all cross border travel , including lorries delivering food from Europe .....

Just isn't going to happen.

Indeed. Cancelling till Aug is basically cancelling 2021.Protest and mass disobedience is all we'll have left.Nobody in authority is on our side.I'd love Ryanair and the like to lay on lots of flights and for peeps to ignore the government. The rich are doing this right now anyway.

Reading rumours of no holidays this year till Aug.Might as well write off the year and shut up shop.Got to call their bluff though. Lots going on holiday and nobody been fined yet....If enough people fly/protest etc, our commy government will have to yield.

closing borders now is not the answer, especially given that we know, the virus cannot be eradicated. Vaccine passports are the only solution, now and in the future.
The airlines are developing their own APP for this purpose and it seems a sensible approach.
Israel is an example of what happens when you open borders after an effective vaccination program.
