19/6/2020 09:47 | m1k.The s-188 is a notice of intent.Who since it was issued has been sacked,made redundant,given an actual enforcement date. | 962962
19/6/2020 09:47 | Is 12 weeks notice and statutory not good? Most places are 4 weeks notice where I work. With tax free element prob equiv to 6 months pay. Is it not? | ![]() watfordhornet
19/6/2020 09:41 | 962.......are you reading any of the information ! Have you read the S-188 notice ? And you haven't answered my question about how you negotiate in this situation. | ![]() m1k3y1

19/6/2020 09:30 | 962.....BA are not negotiating, they are dictating. How do you negotiate with en employer who is not interested in improving on statutory redundancy and 12 weeks notice period.........for everyone except senior management and pilots. | ![]() m1k3y1
19/6/2020 09:28 | m1k.Sit down at a table and negotiate. It may get absoloutely nowhere, but this mexican stand off if now becoming a farce. | 962962
19/6/2020 09:20 | Most airlines around the world are shedding between 10% and 30% of their work force therefore BA is no different and they need to reduce their work force and reduce the cost of the work force that remains. I can see BA permanently losing 20% to 40% of their profitable business travelers. I read a report that almost every businessman in the U.S. who regularly flew on business were not missing this flying during Covid stay at home. | ![]() loganair

18/6/2020 22:38 | Well maybe but they are IAG are playing games. The VR that is being offered it seems, is just statutory redundancy and the 12 weeks notice period they have to pay anyway. Just the same but packaged differently . Cruz has to go and has to appear on TV to be interviewed . Also hearing that a new S 188 letter has had to be issued to some areas, including crew, as the original s 188 was drafted incorrectly ! | ![]() m1k3y1

18/6/2020 21:21 | BA still playing games it seems. A few VR letters have been sent out but targetted and not agreed with Unions. | ![]() m1k3y1

18/6/2020 18:45 | Strike action does seem the obvious recourse for UNITE / GMB, once employees are unfurloughed and aircraft are in the skies again. | ![]() m1k3y1

18/6/2020 12:49 | I think there is an element of IAG being seen to be doing something to justify the draconian actions with BA. The negative press and public opinion surrounding WW and AC is very significant and as I see it becoming potentially more damaging to customer perception and forward bookings than the present Covid issue.A couple of months ago, the press were tearing into Branson. IMHO WW and (when found) AC, have misplayed their hand by being too greedy and neglecting their staff. They could have taken out Virgin with the Branson rhetoric and baying for blood that was occurring.Level Europe is just a half a dozen narrow body aircraft and not the long haul Level.I can't imagine Goldman Sachs are cheap and would have thought that this should have commenced before the whole fire and rehire debacle was published. Personally, I think the management have made fundamental mistakes but time will tell whether they can climb out of this hole that they have dug without incurring too much damage to the brand. | take_that
