Will do thanks very much. How dare you try to lay down the guilt trip. Investment is about business not sentiment. Leave that to the weak!

I am hearing that BA have served S 188 notices on the Pilots. Apparently 1080 pilot jobs are now under threat.
Additionally, apparently BA has now included the 'fire and re-hire' clause. If agreement is not reached between BALPA and BA, then the employment contracts of all pilots will be terminated and new contracts with new terms and conditions will be offered.

You have to wonder what BA are thinking .
Unless of course, they want to close down BA and start again.

IAG and BA are about to destroy the lives of thousands of employees... many young pilots who are proud to go to work and wear their uniform, also having thousands of pounds of debt.... but never mind... shareholders are pleased. Sleep easy tonight..

Guess shareholders like an aggressive cost cutting measures. That along with skies opening up looks good - tinkering around the edges is not needed but drastic action isWW is showing himself to be brutal - shareholders like it. Employees do not

What surprises me is to see IAG share price rise against a background of the 14 day quarantine issue and Walsh's statement that he has no choice but to carry out a restructuring of the BA workforce-new terms of employment, etc -strongly opposed by both unions and employees; with the threat that if they do not accept this, he will sack the lot and rehire people on wholly new and less costlier terms. As if that was not enough, BA will so be facing face having to pay a share of the costs of furloughing employees, which the government/taxpayer is currently paying.

Shares price are not that easy to predict - but you could be right"Air bridges" is the most positive news - more upside when confirmed (though some of this is already in the price ?? )

IAg may drift for the next couple of hours.. but when Us opens, as mentioned AAL is up in pre market.. IAG should get another boost.

the 14 day quarantine, I believe will be abandoned... the air bridges will be used instead.

Also, if Gov tried to fine a company for reducing staff at a time of financial challenge, based on using the furlough scheme.. theyd have to fine a a lot of companies currently. theres no way this will be seen through. they know they cant win this if it was adjudicated on.

Somebody remind me of the bear case on these - I am mostly short on these now but tempted to sell the shares I own (which will increase the upside risk )Staying put for now - will buy cheap cover for downside risk Good luck and well done to buyers that held their recent purchases - it's time to make a gradual exit. A profit can only be counted when it's sitting as cash :-)

csm, if you do a YTD overlay of both RR and IAG (free on HL site) you will see IAG is still lagging RR in recovery so stay put is my call (or put it all in SAGA)

Since today’s open at around 308, it has gained around 1p every four minutes, 15p per hour, similar to how American Airlines climbed yesterday, at that rate we would be around 430p at close, obviously can’t say that’s going to happen however that’s the rate of climb, these things don’t generally shoot up to a price instantly normally all imho dyor

Ref the fuel hedge losses.... a clever tax scheme imho. With fuel prices now in recovery, that loss will be now reversed and appear as a positive on the books, but during quarters when profits are seriously down and possibly negative.

A very smart move to reduce tax liability whilst picking up on the books when profits are thin.
