50% drop ? In this market that amounts to the share price holding up well !

Order books are still full here. Eps for 9 months could easily top a quid. Somehow I think Goodwin will see out this recession and come out the other end as strong as ever.

CR, i'm waiting to buy some for the kids. When i think of how lucky they're going to be in 25yrs having been given the opportunity of buying at the bottom of a generational low.

Google, Walt Disney, Berkshire H, Microsoft, etc, etc. It's going to be some portfolio.

This will certainly be in there with them.

It's illiquid - doesn't take many sellers to hit the price.

I guess the punters are selling ahead of the interim management statement due any day. Director selling a few months ago spooked them perhaps?

Still holding mine tho, a long term pension holding this fo rme.

I am going to wait another 6 months to see how things pan out. We will likely see a big bounce but i believe it will be nothing more than a bear market suckers rally. If you can time an entry/exit then great.

However, unfortunately (or could that be fortunately) everything, good and bad, will be dragged down.

We could easily see great companies like this half again from here.

PE's of single digits are now the norm - haven't you realised this?

I have bought another 1000 shares @ 770 this morning.3rd quarter figures were issued on 7th march last year,so could be announced tomorrow. On all reasonable assumptions they should be good.I would expect 9 month profits of over £10 million with eps of £1 which gives an annualised pe of under 6.If my estimates are correct Goodwin are an absolute gift!

Nothing other than catching up with the falls in the wider market.

I think it has done OK considering.

harshly judged of late this one, the bounce could be just as dramatic, imo

they bought their ISA allowance each.

Who knows why they sold - we all get bills or expenses - other directors just put the shares up as collateral and take out a loan against them - at least GDWN are up front about it.

Crazy CR. Never witnessed anything like it. Just tentatively trying to build a future portfolio on all the falls in stocks i have admired.

yep, it would be so I could add yet again.

It would have been greater if I'd sold before it fell back too :-)

Whoosy market at the moment.

Would it not be great if it fell back to £8.

I used to fear falls in the stocks i owned but am now older (a lot) and wiser (a lot less) to see them for what they are.

Wee gifts from Mr Market.

The directors have sold a tiny amount of their holding, could explain the last few days weakness.

A lot of buying here yesterday, considering it was a grim day too.

stevelondon3 -

The co did 67.38p in H1. They also said

"Despite the overall global economic environment, the order books for our
products of all Group companies remain buoyant and it would be surprising if the
same level of activity was not seen in the second half year."

On that basis, assuming no difference in currecy and margins (and they don't seem to be under any margin pressure) they should do around 135p eps this year imo.

That's not an earnings forecast but it might be a guide.
