18/12/2008 20:45 | Would prefer not to see them bought over. That would just spoil the next 10 years of great growth. | chrismcglone
18/12/2008 14:16 | How much confidence does a company have to give its investors? "Despite the overall global economic environment, the order books for our products of all Group companies remain buoyant and it would be surprising if the same level of activity was not seen in the second half year." What does that say? It says 65p eps or more in H2 imo. They did 24p eps in Q1 for chuff sake - that mean 40p eps in Q2 !!!!!!! I have a big wadge of these in my wife's pension and she's as happy as Larry too Cambium! As near to a banker as you can get imo. CR | cockneyrebel
18/12/2008 11:12 | happy as larry glad I held | cambium
18/12/2008 08:33 | This is because the shares are very tightly held and the company is relatively unknown. GDWN will start to come on the radar now what with its promotion to the FTSE Small Cap Index (and FTSE All Share Index). As you can see from Mr. Cawkwell's postings, some of the more well-known traders are starting to take an interest. I would hazard a guess the trade at 1101p was a buy - as was mine at £11 first thing this morning. | jimmy tarbuck
18/12/2008 08:23 | If these are so good, how come no more than about 10 people trade them a day? Apart from the spread. | trewsa
18/12/2008 08:20 | just seen the results this am, was out last night when they were posted - fantastic - but did you ever doubt them? :-) still rattling off 40% growth and confident of the same in H2 :-) 135-140p eps on the cards here after 90p last year - how long till WEIR or the like make a bid? £25 minimum if it comes imo - but bet as this msarket gets better these go to £25 in their own right. One to sleep easy on imo. Enjoy. CR | cockneyrebel
18/12/2008 08:03 | some mug sold me a 1000@ £11.01 this morning! | kneecaps2
17/12/2008 22:21 | I hope so biglan3. I have been looking for a 'safe' (bit of a misnomer in the current market perhaps) harbour for some of the kids cash and GDWN keeps tugging at my shirt tail for attention. I definately intend to increase my exposure here at some point. However, believing as i do that we will see at least one final plunge in the wider market in the not too distant future, i will take the risk of hanging fire for the time being. Can't argue with the results or track record. Just a pity it's being held back by a septic market. Just wish the pesky meddlers would let the lancing of the boil begin and be finished with the agony. | chrismcglone
17/12/2008 21:40 | Excellent results. Can we get in under £12 tomorrow morning? | bigalan3
17/12/2008 21:30 | They do seem to report 'afer hours'. I agree with the recent posters, & reiterate my previous comment; these are still buy. Good luck all | scottishfield
17/12/2008 20:42 | Well, Goodwin does it again. And I don't mean the surprising timing of its statements. I imagined that an eps of 60p would be the top end of expectations - even given GDWNs phenomenal growth over the last few years. They trumped that with a marvellous figure of 67p per share. And I wonder how the market will take this development of 'Advanced Ultra Super Critical Steam Turbines' (what a mouthful). Best of British - well put, and true. Glad I topped my ISA now. Take the stage, CR. | jimmy tarbuck
17/12/2008 20:02 | Excellent numbers and unusually bullish outlook statement. Like hen's teeth in this climate. | dasv
17/12/2008 19:47 | kneecaps2, I forgot to add that as of 22nd December GDWN goes into the Small Caps index and the trackers will have to buy. Turnover in GDWN is slow. So it looks like onwards and upwards to me. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
17/12/2008 19:08 | yes truly amazing results.with profits growth like this i will be amazed if these shares open tomorrow below £12.If they do i will add to my 7% holding! i will enjoy watching any bears run for cover. | kneecaps2
17/12/2008 18:44 | dorisken, chrismcglone, I have been seeking to buy more. And I agree that this is a terrific results statement. TNAV cover is a bit thin. But GDWN does not half generate cash. GDWN strikes me as a first class example of Best of Britain. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
17/12/2008 18:01 | EK buying again. | chrismcglone
17/12/2008 17:49 | Interim Results released after the market closed today. Strange timing for such brilliant results. | dorisken
17/12/2008 16:22 | Quietly ticking away. | chester
15/12/2008 18:35 | yep - and the money they bring home is worth more in $. CR | cockneyrebel
15/12/2008 17:26 | those exports get cheaper | cambium

10/12/2008 22:56 | Cheers Alexis :-) Took my eye off the mkt caps but knew they were close. CR | cockneyrebel
10/12/2008 20:20 | yippeeee, should hit a few radars | cambium
10/12/2008 19:05 | Just announced that this is promoted to FTSE Smallcap index | alexisk |
