08/9/2008 11:43 | CR I like this Buffettism (quoted in global-investors/mon "As far as I'm concerned, the stockmarket doesn't exist. It is only there as a reference to see if anybody is offering to do anything foolish." Warren Buffett | dasv

03/9/2008 21:29 | thanks CR for clarifying that. Sterling now falled 15% against USD since Nov 2007. Back to 1.40 USD to GBP I reckon at some point. | dasv
03/9/2008 18:55 | On that basis, since the April year end Stiring has fallen nearly 10% v $. On that basis and 60% of GDWN's business done in $ as they say, last year's earnings would be up around 5% just from a better exchange rate I would think, since July anyway, or the start of GDWN's Q2. CR | cockneyrebel
03/9/2008 18:41 | Falling Sterling help GDWN: From the results: "The strength of the Euro against Sterling now gives us an opportunity to develop increased business in Europe. The principal risks and uncertainties faced by the company relate to the possible substantial weakening in the strength of the US Dollar against Sterling, the US Dollar being the currency in which over 60% of the Group's worldwide turnover is traded. The diversification of the Group's products and markets assist in the minimising of any specific market turn down but, as with all manufacturing companies, a world depression would be unhelpful." CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2008 12:38 | Falling Sterling should help GDWN's competitiveness? or harm it on input costs? | dasv
02/9/2008 11:57 | Cheers - reshuffle assessment date is Tues next week, changes take place on 22nd I reckon they'll go in imo - should be fun if funds want to buy 5-10K or more :-) CR | cockneyrebel

01/9/2008 16:56 | Market cap of the bid price is £88.2m Market cap on the Offer is £91.8m Goodwin are currently in the FTSE Small Cap Index based on the Offer price - the reshuffle date is next Tuesday. CR | cockneyrebel

01/9/2008 09:38 | just got another 500 before they go xd. These are 10% short of going into the FTSE Small Cap Index so £1 on the price will do it - that's just a few buys of modest size. Gonna benefit big from the falling £ v $ and Euro - Small Cap Entry just a matter of whether it's Sep or Jan imo - that will give them a further boost. CR | cockneyrebel
