Quite right with regard to a little sanity returning here.

Can anyone say if Momentum Investor were able to shed any
new light on the recent SRS Holdings purchase?

TIA.

Nothing compared to what it will be up on the results I suspect whiteeussians.

circa 100p eps for the year gone imo, 130p going forward imo.

PE 8.5.

Growing twice the pace of Wellsteam, on half the PE. Beggar all debt.

Impressive rise, but even after this rise the PE is still 9 or less imo :-)

I've seen the tip - a great write up.

Got to be one of ther best visibility buys going - makes a big thing about their business with power stations which I hadn't looked on as big as the check valves but MI seem to think so.

Looks even more of a screaming buy imo - bet the spread scared a few off but they should try putting a limit buy in 10-15p under the ask and they'll probably get it and moce the bid up at the same time - which means the spead is far less in reality.

Hi Rob, yes, I looked at MNS results they looked decent. Came in inline tho and I suspect in this market and on that rating you need to do more than that to get the market excited. Had this been a year ago MNS would have looked cheap but when you look at the stocks around the place and the ratings in small cap software co's these days the ratings have come down a long way. I'm watching tho - ta.

Thanks regarding the Momentum Investor piece - Chester got the email on Friday - I had another 500 on Friday on the suspicion it had to be GDWN - who else could it have been :-)

Crazy cheap valuation - will all be adjusted up at the resunts in Aug tho imo.

Tipped in Momentuum Investor today I suspect.

They put out an ad Friday saying they were tipping a stock that supplies the energy industry, on a single digit PE and on course to grow earnings 300% in 4 years - has to be GDWN imo

dasv - no worries mate, thanks for your upbeat comments, not too bad here compared to elsehwere so can't complain, sterling will eventually fall against dollar, just trying to get the timing right!

wipo1 - don't worry. Sterling is structurally very weak and likely to deteriorate against the dollar and the euro in due course so GDWN will be able to keep UK-originating costs (wages/elec) down to some extent.

CR - thanks for pointing that out, but I don't think its all cheap and nasty stuff castings do, they have 30 million quid in the bank and make more money than gdwn. Gdwn has similar problems with high electricity costs and will be hit by weak US dollar.

I was not comparing the two companies and I like GDWN as well as CGS. Just guessing why the price has risen, just like BT got hit by VOD results yesterday, hardly think mobile is the same as landline's!

He's back already CR. Bought 400 he says although whether it was a SB or shares I don't know. Bought at 819p so it must have been on Monday I reckon.

A bit like me maybe - I bought MKS at 116p the other day ;0)

There's a big difference between CSG and GDWN. CSG are cheap pig iron casters - they work on stuff that's under 100lb - cheap nasty stuff that any casting co can handle.

Goodwing are high end engineers. They cast check valves that can be 8 ft across and weigh many tonnes. They have xray facilities for checking the integrity of casting and lots more.

Where Castings are selling to the likes of the tractor industry or the like, Goodwin sell to the energy industry in a high degree of their business. Passing on higher iron costs will be more difficult for Castings.

Castings are trading on a PE of 10 for this year, their earnings fluctuate and eps is up 10% over 5 years. Goodwin are on a PE of about 7.5, eps has grown 300% over 5 years.

Apart from that there's little difference. :-)

Why Robbie Burns is in there and not in here gawd only knows - he'll be back on the results when these are heading back to £14 tho I guess.

Hadn't thought about the castings link or the naked trader.Just think that a sustainable rise is based more on buying but I see why they've been marked up for now.Interesting one to watch.

Serratia, I think the reason could be there has been a few decent buyers in Castings and market makers moving this one up accordingly, also naked trader bought a few GDWN might have helped also.

Although sub £9 looks a buying opportunity on the way down there were far more daily trades than now on the way up.Since the low the total trades have been negligible.A rise would be more sustainable if decent buys were appearing.
