This looks like an excellent investment. In just the right areas and on a modest valuation. Invested 3k but will certainly invest more (and soon) before it runs away.

I'm sure people look and think it's up a lot today - 25p.

That's 2%, like a 2p rise on a 110p stock - punters would chase that up 12p no problem but they sit and watch because we are on a scale 10 times higher than they are used to imo.

I reckon the market will wake up when the full year results are out should be stunningly graphic imo

95p+ v 65p last year and a piddling low PE. Noreva earnings kicking in in Euros, The Vermiculite plant now up and running and that £10m radar contract must boost the coming year much further too imo.

50%-75% in these over 12 months imo. Ignore the high shareprice - it's the valuation that matter.

They are dasv imo.

This from the interims:

"Goodwin International, having recently expanded its range of check valves to include the nozzle check valve to complement its dual plate check valve, and with its new sister company in Germany, Noreva GmbH, is expected yet again this year to win record levels of orders from the oil, gas and LNG industries world wide which have an impressive five year investment programme to keep pace with the increasing world demand."

Have a look at the picture gallery of the check valves Novera make - these things are huge - one and a half times the height of a man.

Supplying the oil and gas industry, growing earnings at an increasing percentage year on year, staggeringly low PE - the market just isn't aware of this company imo.

OK, here's some numbers:

Q1, pre tax, £2.03m
Q2, pre tax, £2.33m
Q3, pre tax, £2.9m = 26p eps

Q4, reckon they must do £3.2m pdt for the last Q and 28.5p eps which will make 95p eps for the year.

If you just annualised that last Q eps to get next year's eps of 114p.

However they are growing earnings comfortably at 10% quarter on quarter, in fact over 15% on the last Q. On a continuation of the current earnings growth rate of just 10% pe Q you get 145p eps this coming year.

Better still they have the vermiculite business up and going now and they have just won that £10m radar contract so scope for that 145p eps forecast to get slaughtered imo - 160p ?

A PE of 7.5 for earnings growth of 59% odd year on year?

Will be interesting to see if SCSW elaborate on their hinted tip for these this weekend.

yep. I suppose he waited till after April 6th if he is a higher rate tax payer. Only 18% now rather than 14% last week.

Great how the rns tells us when a director is funding a personal purchase hey!

The Company received notification on 7th April 2008 of the following transaction
in which Mr R.J. Dyer, a director of the Company, is interested.

The sale on 4th April 2008 of 2,750 share in the capital of the Company at a
price of £10.92 per share. Following the transaction Mr. Dyer's holding now
amounts to 14,750 shares.

The sale of shares was made to utilise Mr. Dyer's capital gains tax allowance
for the year ending 5th April 2008 and also to fund a personal purchase.

Agree. I think the recent selling might be down to long term holders taking advantage of selling before the end of the financial year to get CGT tax at 10% rather than wait till next financial year and pay 18%. Well thought out Darling I must say you tozzer. Sadly I haven't held GDWN long enough to avail myself of taper relief down to 10% with GDWN.
