29/5/2008 11:08 | CR it looks like we have a consolidation pattern forming with resistance forming at 1400. I agree re: buy and hold on GDWN. For one thing demand has outstripped supply for oil since 2005. This means oil service companies can't lose and can name their price:- | dasv
29/5/2008 10:32 | There must be some great small investors about that sell a couple of hundred of these - I'd like to know where better they have for the money. Just a look at the chart here tells you buy and hold is the way to make money on GDWN imo. CR | cockneyrebel
24/5/2008 13:30 | Just noticed GDWN is one position away from going into the FTSE Small Cap Index as of yesterday. With a lot of the dross in the Small Cap Index likely to slide and GDWN likely to over-perform I reckon there's every chance GDWN go into the index at the next re-shuffle on June 7th I believe. That should have a further positive effect on the price imo :-) CR | cockneyrebel
23/5/2008 18:15 | :-) Have you looked at the link? in the picture gallery, bottom left - NRV-B 56in ANSI 600 pump station Saudi Arabia - that is one hell of a non return valve or that bloke is 2 ft high ! When I first heard they had acquired a valve co my thought was they mill need to sell loads an there will be some competition. These things are a different league - I bet there' not a lot of companies around theworld building non-return valves of this size and quality. A different type of valve to Goodwin's existing check valves so there should be monster cross-selling here imo. CR | cockneyrebel
23/5/2008 17:52 | you boasting again CR LOl | nephie
23/5/2008 14:27 | Just been listening to a guy on Bloomberg going on about LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) boomimg - remined me of this in the interims: "Within the oil, gas and LNG industries the last six months have seen dramatic rises in fuel costs and this has created more investment opportunities and a greater need for the valves we manufacture. The Group's investment in vermiculite, used in many insulating applications has been significant and with the imminent commissioning of our new facility in the UK, we hope to be in a good position to meet an encouraging demand stimulated by the much higher energy costs and grants for energy saving. This new #2 million facility will be commissioned in January 2008.. Have a look at GDWN's subsidiary Noreva's Nozzel Check valves too - their products must be in hot demand imo. (Take a look at the picture gallery link on the left - we ain't talking little valves here. CR | cockneyrebel
22/5/2008 20:31 | yes, if you look around tho the real growth is here and the PE half the size - which is why these are rising steeper than WSM now imo. CR | cockneyrebel
22/5/2008 20:23 | CR, I agree. I hold GDWN and until recently WSM, sold the latter 2 days ago as I couldn't see it going any higher or would drop, but now its up again ! | doc60
22/5/2008 13:38 | Well Wellstream is hitting new highs. There's no direct comparison but I actually think GDWN are better diversified and they definitely have much higher growth rate and an increasing growth rate and on a PE around half that of WSM CR | cockneyrebel
21/5/2008 22:14 | so target £2100 per share by 2030 then! a bit nearer to home, the chart says this is going on again shortly. whats more if it does we will have some support above the 1150 mark | melody9999
21/5/2008 18:01 | Nice - I bet the divi has already paid for them several times over too. CR | cockneyrebel
21/5/2008 17:52 | £21 would be 100 times the 21 pence i paid for my first 10000 in 1986! | kneecaps2
21/5/2008 17:19 | grwoing growth ¨0) | nephie
21/5/2008 15:24 | I bet we see £21 before you see £11 Chris. Just get your calculator out and look at these numbers imo - project a little bit, even keeping it modest: Earnings Growth Record 2003 = 25.5p, 2004 = 27p (+6%), 2005 = 35p (+30%), 2006 = 47p (+35%), 2007 = 65p (+38%). Current Year: Q1, pre tax, £2.03m = 19.8p eps Q2, pre tax, £2.33m = 20.62p eps Q3, pre tax, £2.9m = 25.86p eps 66.28p for 9 month. On course for 95p eps for the year just ended, a 44% increase in earning over last year and a further increase in the pace of growth from the 38% last year. | cockneyrebel
20/5/2008 16:07 | Still going to wait until it comes back to 11 quid. That last rise was a cliff face....and we all know how dangerous those can be. Nothing will survive the coming carnage in the markets but great companies like this will be fantastic value once again. As i said before CR. The fundamentals (taken from company refs) are simply not attractive enough for me now what with the recent jump. If you are in, then great. No need to do anything. I just think i patience will be rewarded for those, like myself, who are waiting in the wings. I am looking forward to eventually climbing aboard. | chrismcglone
19/5/2008 16:47 | no problem CR | cockneyrebel
19/5/2008 16:28 | ah I see. Thanks CR | dasv
19/5/2008 16:16 | No, it's traded on Plus market too - click the link in the header here CR | cockneyrebel
19/5/2008 16:15 | 734 shares bought and we get nigh on a 5% rise. It doesn't take much to move this. | dasv
19/5/2008 15:49 | A break past the old high there - farewell to £14 my little petit-pois :-) CR | cockneyrebel
19/5/2008 14:57 | Moving up - I think a new high before long. CR | cockneyrebel
14/5/2008 16:06 | a fine example of an MM shake having absolutely no impact. just a couple of sells. no weak holders here which can't be bad considering we are something like 250 pts or 20% up since start of May. Clearly reflects the view that much more is to come. Well done everyone! | melody9999
14/5/2008 13:51 | scalpers will be kicking themselves in a few days imo. You rarely get a chance to buy back lower than what you sold at with GDWN - look at the chart. CR | cockneyrebel
14/5/2008 13:41 | missed the bottom but added at 1340. any pullback seems an opportunity when you look at the fundamentals | melody9999
14/5/2008 11:40 | the little shoulder at 1310p on the chart looks a nice buy level imo. CR | cockneyrebel |
