22/7/2008 17:07 | Decent rise in CGS as well, metal bashers certainly look better than retailers! | wipo1
22/7/2008 10:53 | Hmmm - all the keenies sold out then? Up 45p today - results creeping up on us too, just a month away. Would imagine those that bottled it @ £12+ would fancy buying back as they re-grow their testicles. All the oil support sector up today - Wellstream has bounced and gave back far less than GDWN - GDWN growing faster too. CR | cockneyrebel
21/7/2008 16:38 | Looks like someone grabbed 2.5K at the close - at mid - see - it pays to make a cheeky bid! CR | cockneyrebel
21/7/2008 16:15 | Pay the spread before it gest away imo. If you put in a bid 5-10p below the offer you'll probably get it - chanse are you'll move the bif up too so it's less painful than it looks. Keep watching and it will get away :-) CR | cockneyrebel
21/7/2008 13:03 | Chart looks like it's bottomed and bouncing to me - gonna be some disappointed puinters miss this imo. Have you considered how GDWN's earnings ae benefitting from the weak pound? CR | cockneyrebel
17/7/2008 19:17 | yep, but you're holding them long term, and when they give that gain back you'll be kicking yourself - mine's banked. Acyually I've been out today looking around the UK (as you're in France you obviously aren't aware of how bad things are for many poor souls. I was disheatened to see things are every bit as bad as the press keep saying - local housing estates being mothballed, Oxford Shopping Centre called off. I've seen the local hospital has sold off loads of land to bail out Brown and that's paying for a new hospital with fewer beds (it doesn't need so many the NHS says because it's on a smaller footprint - more efficient - sorry but the number of beds are determined by the number of sick people about - nice to see Labour spin is live and kicking). The city guys are getting the horn about a few $ off of oil - that won't get us out of the hole 6 trillion missing dollars has got us into. Sadly most city scribblers don't remember the 80's recession let alone the 70's - if you're under 30 you won't remember negative equity etc. A lot of spin today in the US re Wells Fargo, JP Morgan's great results cos they beat expectations by 10 c each - ignore the fact that their balance shets are being depleted daily and severa are bust by everything but the grim reaper turning up. You buy and hold here Frauddy but Bush and Brown are swimming in poo up to the chin - my bet is you get a better buying opportunity in MKS yet - warnings come in more than ones remember. 17/7/2008 16:20 | ydderF. Well done on your success trading MKS. I still think in general threads benefit from being on-topic and non-personal. | dasv
17/7/2008 15:41 | dasv, 34k actually meant to write 2 not 116 - sorry (260-216 x100k less exes if i were to sell)- does that qualify me to post on this thread? | ydderf
17/7/2008 15:36 | you seriously telling us you've made over a £100k in a few days and the best thing you can think to do with your time is brag about it on the GDWN thread? | dasv
11/7/2008 16:43 | Hey fella, you have a relaxing time - you'll be back in time to buy a nice cheap chunk more! :-) CR | cockneyrebel
11/7/2008 15:18 | oh eck..whats happened here? Was enjoying my time here in Vancouver but culdnt resist looking at the prices...ah well serves me right :) | nurdin
11/7/2008 13:28 | I don't need to take up your silly challenge Frauddy - the UK Stock Challenge shows your inadequacies as an investor, as does the GRG share price today, hitting a new low. £35 support there Frauddy - gawd 'elp ya if it goes through. Glad I traded out of MKS again yesterday. 180p looks likely there imo. CR | cockneyrebel
11/7/2008 13:26 | silverfern - I also like the look of CHG - but thought it a little expensive when i did my due dilligence in Feb. Defence sector has held up well considering. | dasv
11/7/2008 13:22 | GRG suffering the same problems as metal bashers, high electricity costs. A bit of action in CGS, stripping out the cash, the p/e is probably 6, for a well run company looks too cheap, even for a metal basher! | wipo1
11/7/2008 08:17 | Thanks Serratia - you might check out CHG anyway; I daren;t say "a safe haven" or it'll fall 30% today | silverfern
11/7/2008 08:00 | still waiting form you to find the balls to take up my challenge of GRG versus this uk metal basher.....£36 to £8.30, your miracuulous trading instincts are always hystoric, when you are in real time APG for example or TPT or API you show yourself to be bottom of the class.... | ydderf
10/7/2008 20:29 | Nope, been back in and out again for another 7 points. profited in BWNG and NXT too. Fleet of foot in this market Frauddy - reckon your old Greggs will take a tonking - the one on my local town was empty late today with the shelves full up - all that waste. CR | cockneyrebel
10/7/2008 19:50 | CROOKNEY CONGRATULATIONS! "The fact that you've bought MKS worries me for the whole retail sector! Scalped mine and out today," they closed at 240.....you only scalped yourself! | ydderf
09/7/2008 21:23 | Cummon Frauddy, I punted absolute 5h!t or bust stocks in the Challenge and still I'm 100 places above you! One of yours has gone bust - you lost a Bentley GT on that one so that ain't gonna reverse for you! You're beat in that already - by virtually everyone! Your PDG in it will go bust, TNI looks humped lifeless (who advertises in papers? You've told us all tha tthe property market is dead and then you invest in a stock that relies on estate agent advertising!). You've lost the plot. I can wait till year end - you'll be two places lower then imo. Listening to your investment opinion is like getting medical advice from Harold Shipman ! The fact that you've bought MKS worries me for the whole retail sector! Scalped mine and out today, sold my BWNG today too for 8% - you have to be insane to be long in the retailers for more than a couple of days at the moment. I'm even trading TPT now rather than holding - in and out like Cecil Parkinson and his secretary. CR | cockneyrebel
09/7/2008 20:39 | Silverfern, Sorry not to have given an answer to your earlier question.I spend 2 or 3 days on a review and I'm sorry I have so many to look at.I haven't looked at Chemring before so I am unable to comment. | serratia
09/7/2008 19:51 | Just to say thanks for an interesting discussion on this thread. Yes, two of you get a bit personal, but I guess that means you mean it. There's enough relevant points about investment decisions for an outsider. No-one likes a bleak outlook, everyone makes bad decisions. Take me wife.....: ) just joking. | silverfern |
