I don't think Martin Ooi is interested in a takeover. IMV he is an investor. Having said that he has invested £1.5m into GDP so presumably he has some sort of exit strategy in mind. Perhaps not such a problem if he thinks the SP will get to 20p+
Any thought here guys why the uptick?I saw 2m shares traded yesterday could this be the start of a takeover ?If you want to buy Kili then why not buy the whole company at these prices.
I don't think Martin Ooi is interested in a takeover. IMV he is just a value investor who can see the value in GDP.
He can go up to 29.9% before having to make a takeover offer. Still some distance but we remain a very cheap buy.
Question for anyone with an idea? Martin Oii has amassed quite a stake in GDP. Anyone think he has takeover plans? The parts are worth way more than the whole at present. Can anyone remember at what percentage he is forced to make an offer for the rest of the shares? 10p would be enough to rattle a few cages but maybe not enough to gain control? I have a 2 year aim of 20p?
2 mill shares bought and no movement - I'd have a £ on a takeover on Monday morning if I could get odds
something big is going on -this reeks of price suppression to me, given the crazy volumes of over 60% of the float in last few weeks I still favour the chance of some sort of takeover, but this is just pure speculation
I wonder how many shares trade 50% of their float in two weeks without there being a takeover bid ? The more I think about it....
It was only a matter of time before the true value of GDP became wider knowledge. Martin Ooi seems to have put a rocket under the SP and if the POG holds then 20p is not an unrealistic target. However maybe a takeover bid starting at 10p? Tell me I am crazy?
yep , Sea - takeover bid imminent imo, no evidence other than the extraordinary volume since quarterly update - but given the extreme undervaluation that we have all spotted, it wouldn't be a surprise if someone with deeper pockets has seen it as well.
Kimboy - with the pipeline extended there is the chance of a DRD takeover bid even if GDP management aren't keen on the idea - pure speculation, but anything that shines a light on GDP's massive undervaluation at these levels would be good news. Also would force management to come up with alternatives to monetise this asset quicker.
at this rate close to 10% of the total shares outstanding could trade today when one allows for hidden trades -incredibly rare outside of takeover announcements, truly game-changing.
