I'm afraid I'm in both camps thekida but I'm not complaining. Could only be the beginning who would sell now against this back drop, £1 is a no brainer for starters unless something unforeseen like the horse meat scandal turns up but this time not in our favour. At one point 90% of my portfolio was invested in CRAW, would I do that again now it's worth 33 times more :))

Just for the record here was my reply.... (My current target is 80p by April 2015 but the way the market is tuning in to CRAW it will be there before the Summer is out !)

@Shanklin

I like CRAW but I can't imagine the circumstances where it could be worth 50p a year or two out. (Perhaps that's because I've not got a very good imagination!) Chris

BahrainChris,

Really !! You need a trip to the stores.

I only became a shareholder in March and had never heard of Crawshaws before then and I am a northerner. However you cannot argue with their last four reported like for like increases.

To 31/1/13... up 3%
To 31/7/13.... 5%
next 8 weeks..10%
next 7 weeks..18%

Those are totally same store growth in turnover figures and that is allied with improvement in gross margin too.

Add to that the fact that Crawshaw will be opening NEW stores and increasing revenues between 10 to 15% annually from those expansion plans and then work out what that does for overall earnings ?

I am going to merely hope for a continued like for like growth rate at 8% not 18% which is sensational. That alongside just 12.5% expansion growth for three years would see turnover double and that would have an amazing effect on the bottom line if there are no borrowings to pay for and the gross margin holds up so well.

In that scenario I fail to see how 50p would not be with us after just two years as the markets look forwards and delivering that in the first two and promising more of the same in the third would easily back up a 50p target !

However why stop there ?.. and those figures are conservative with the current trend being significantly better than that. Just build your own business model with all the variations and see how all the metrics are improving here.

I will not be selling until there looks to be a problem with Richard Rose completing his own sensible and very deliverable expansion plans. That looks a long way off. Why would anyone NOT want to back the strategy, the growth plan, and the clear route to execution available to Crawshaws ? They are probably only within the shopping distance of 5% of the UK at present so lots more growth to go for !

On 22 November 2013 I said "I like CRAW but I can't imagine the circumstances where it could be worth 50p a year or two out."

Do Crawshaws sell pies? I'll have one of the humble variety please.

Congratulations to everyone who holds.

Craw seems to be acting like a vote for quality provable meat products versus the general rubbish provided by the supermarkets upon which every purchase appears to be punt on the dubious supply chain ... Alas I've missed this one like many for now but I'm watching closely

Peter says...Absolutely shocked! How on earth could a mere butcher create an share price chart like this?

I think you need to watch the company video on their website. Crawshaw is not a simple local butcher

useless23 says...The boat has well and truly sailed and is almost at america. No point buying now.

Well it looks like it is still firmly in Yorkshire and the Midlands to me although three new outlets in the last six months also suggests 15% growth in new stores and potentially 30% annually plus the 13.8% organic like for like growth so does that not mean the company could be three times larger within two years.

Apparently the new distribution centre will be able to support 60 stores so that should be Yorkshire and a couple of other counties well covered by then....not sure where the ports in Yorkshire will be launching to after that ?

I am totally biased and committed and even bought more this morning so please all do your own research as this is long term investing for me and not short term trading.

Thanks Useless, I did exactly that.. bought at 4.9p, but almost didn't because of the prohibitive spread at the time.. approx. 15-20% as I remember.

Sold a few on the way up, obviously a mistake in hindsight, but certainly not crying over a bit of spilt milk. What a staggering performance.

Petersinthemarket,I had my eye on this stock during the horse meat scandal when the share price was around 4p and was tempted to buy it but thought it was overpriced!!! Ha!!!! How wrong was I?!The boat has well and truly sailed and is almost at america. No point buying now. This company has ebitda of 1.4m yet a market cap of over 35m?! That's ridiculous and I would expect profit taking sooner or later. Well done to anyone making a profit on this stock and a special well done to anyone who bought at sub 5p!

Just looked in again 3mths after taking this off my watch list as small fry. Absolutely shocked! How on earth could a mere butcher create an share price chart like this? Incredible! Now don't know whether to pile in or to simply accept that I have missed the boat by at least a country mile. I wish GL to all holders (as if you really need it). pete

Hi David,

You write ,.....HR, training, property acquisition and facility management functions will all need beefing up ! no pun intended

Good to see that CRAW plan to add some meat to the existing (already pretty tasty) offering.....

Someone has picked up 141,552 at 64.11p. That is the highest price I have ever seen. The institutions will be coming back in now especially having seen the roll out plans and potential for this to become a very significant company with up to say 200 stores. I can understand why we would need a CEO with the specific skills needed for such a roll out as HR, training, property acquisition and facility management functions will all need beefing up ! no pun intended

I think there is a fair chance we will see Mark Naughton-Rumbo announced as the new CEO, but that's just pure speculation on my part.

Questions for AGM :
Would the plan to greatly accelerate involve fundraising?
If so, will shareholders get first refusal?
I'd be very unhappy with a placing at a discount, thereby diluting existing shareholders.

All Sounds good but why change the CEO? I would preferably see someone recruited with this relevant experience but not as CEO
