24/4/2014 10:35 | Results...the last trading update stated We expect to announce our full year results at the end of April, 2014. Bloomberg has the 29th and that is the date I have for meeting management for lunch so I think we are safe to assume the 29th is the results release date but they should have put it on their website so everyone can be alert and ready that morning. Sods law it will be a day early on Monday now ! Has there been a tip somewhere this morning as lots of steady buying out there ? | ![]() davidosh

23/4/2014 16:36 | Hi tk, Botswana beef?...... Yup, that was what I was told in the Derby store approx 2 weeks ago. Hence my puzzlement. Hence my comment. ATB | ![]() extrader
23/4/2014 07:39 | Irish beef is the best beef you can eat imho....wonderful taste, melts in your mouth nothing to beat it and ive tried loads of different types.Shoppers are fickle you have to have it right.Good tasty quality cuts at cheap prices or they shop elsewhere. TK | thekida

22/4/2014 15:25 | Hi David, Oops ! Results day, not AGM.... Grateful if you - or any other attendee - could cover the Q raised in my 2782. Cheers ! ATB | ![]() extrader
22/4/2014 15:14 | Would any of you holders like to meet the directors on results day next week for a presentation to private investors in Central London ....just email me through the Mello website www.mellomeeting.co. | ![]() davidosh
22/4/2014 14:32 | Hi all, Unable to attend the AGM, perhaps some kind person could raise the flwg issue : At least some of CRAW's value proposition is enhanced by its image as a trusted supplier of 'known source' - as opposed to 'unknown horse' - meat..... When I last tried to buy a fillet (for a family beef Wellington), I was told by the Derby outlet that they were out of whole fillets (£ 25, ex-Botswana) and I had to settle for what were described as UK-sourced sliced fillet, a little more expensive per Kg. And very tasty it was too.... My 'beef' with CRAW is that I'm not sure (a) that the source of the earlier fillet was clear and (b) whether it undermines CRAW's image/reputation in any way. I didn't get to sample the Botswana beef, which for all I know may have been excellent btw. But it's easier to have a handle on stuff sourced from the UK majors (if I've understood the CRAW modus operandi correctly) than from the other side of the world..... Just sayin', like. ATB Discl.: An overall happy holder. | ![]() extrader
22/4/2014 13:47 | I like the new slogan... "We make your meat budget stretch further" | ![]() playful
22/4/2014 12:15 | Forget sausages...chicken breast fillet is going cheap this week as just received the tweet stating...This week's offer is 5kg of chicken breast fillet for just £20. #chicken #crawshawbutchers That is nearly half the price of the cheapest fillet available at any of the big supermarkets and should attract custom. | ![]() davidosh
21/4/2014 18:56 | Talking sausages.....I wonder who votes in these awards anyway ? or are they decided by a tiny panel of foodies or critics ? How about we start a tweeting campaign to see if anyone has a regionally available sausage that can challenge the Crawshaws award winning sausages to a blind tasting sizzle off !!? | ![]() davidosh
21/4/2014 14:30 | Lets talk sausages, forget about shareSoc, we were over in Keswick for a few days last week staying at the Keswick Country House Hotel and "their" Cumberland sausages will take some beating I can tell you......maybe there should be a sausage tasting contest sometime?.....yum yum TK:( | thekida
18/4/2014 17:03 | I totally agree that ShareSoc is a good organisation. But it will only remain a good organisation if it keeps its standards of behaviour high - and IMHO spamming is NOT good behaviour. And I mean spamming: I'm not accusing ShareSoc of other types of bad internet behaviour, such as trolling, ramping, deramping, posting drivel, etc. Just of spamming: posting the same message to many places, without sufficient care about its relevance to each place. In essence, in my view being a good organisation does not excuse ShareSoc from having to adhere to decent web behaviour. If ShareSoc feels otherwise, the time has come for me to depart from ShareSoc. I don't want that to be the outcome - but if ShareSoc feels that spamming is their best way forward, that is what will happen. Gengulphus | ![]() gengulphus
17/4/2014 11:00 | Well said Davidosh. | tadders2
17/4/2014 10:21 | Garbetklb....Thank you for your support and I think you are spot on. I am constantly challenged by those living long distances from London and told that my Mello events should be held around the country. ShareSoc is trying to do just that but how do you promote them to the target audience within the next two weeks or so on a very limited budget ? A new board on Advfn is not the answer ! How do you guarantee those living in Yorkshire will go anywhere near that new board ? If the event flops it will not be for lack of trying by ShareSoc and me. Why not be positive and help ? So often it is those who never engage with management that moan when they do not understand what is happening at a company. Too many are happy to stay behind their computers. That was not mindless spam just sensibly trying to efficiently target northern based investors who might enjoy engaging with management. The Crawshaw chairman is going to do exactly that at the first Mello event in the north in Harrogate the following month so naturally investors here will benefit from the cross publicity of both these events. I can safely say if both are not well attended then the north will continue to be the frozen north in investing terms and that is sad for me as a northerner but I will go down trying !! I am contacting all the local business study centres and universities to see if they have interested parties too. | ![]() davidosh
17/4/2014 08:45 | It was not mindless - just inappropriate... ...and I have a suggested a more ethical way forward. | ![]() shanklin
17/4/2014 08:16 | I'm with Davidosh / Sharesoc. Sharesoc is a good organisation & deserves to be supported in its endeavours to promote greater interaction between companies & investors. As David says, it has a v limited budget & compared to a fair proportion of posts on ADVFN, this promotion is very mild stuff, even if strictly off topic. But actually, if one is invested in a northern based small cap, it may well be of interest to hear of a local investor event - attending this could give the opportunity to drop in on your investment for a chat. A polite notice advising of a non profit making event likely to be of interest to investors ain't spamming in my view. Meaningless ramping / de-ramping drivel is! Garbetklb | ![]() garbetklb
17/4/2014 07:51 | Apologies for the O/T... davidosh I agree with Gengulphus that yesterday's posting was unacceptable spam and I found it irritating . I think a a better way forward would be for Sharesoc to set up a new thread; CR has set up one with pseudo-EPIC "CR", so Sharesoc could do something similar. You could then highlight this new thread on a few boards, so that people can add it to their favourites. But please no more indiscriminate spamming. Cheers, Martin | ![]() shanklin
16/4/2014 22:11 | Hi David, Re your 2760, I wrote to the editor re the Sat FT article, pointing out that the article, whilst interesting, didn't ask/answer the obvious FT reader question : All very good, but how can I make money from this ? I then pointed to CRAW's listed status and performance during 2013, plus Chairman's background and track record. I assume my letter ' Let them eat steak ?' was deemed too 'promotional' ;- | ![]() extrader
16/4/2014 13:21 | Gengulphus....As you probably know ShareSoc has very limited funds and wants to help as many investors as possible...The remit for the ShareSoc social media student (we are voluntary unpaid directors so depend on almost free external helpers to assist us) was to pick similar companies with an HQ away from London and ideally a northern base so likely to have shareholders interested in attending an event in Leeds rather than London ! If you have a much better way of attracting genuine investors in small companies who are based within say 70 miles of Leeds I am sure we as directors would like to hear from you especially as a member already. We are a very genuine organisation and certainly not seeking top annoy our members or wider investing community but if this event only has twenty attendees having spent a huge amount of time, effort and valuable funds to get nationwide events off the ground I will be bitterly disappointed. Please try to help the cause in any way you can. This is not spam and there is no commercial gain here. The event is actually free and food and drinks provided. Not sure what more one can do if nobody in the North is interested and these boards are where those investors come from. | ![]() davidosh |
