I am basically a momentum investor. Chasing the trend, grabbing breakouts, using trailed stops.

Get in, grab it, get out. Dont still be there when the roof falls in....
Some I get wrong - but my staking ratio allows for that. Good money management can compensate for poor stock selection.

I find that a heck of a lot of systems and indicators are counter productive. They just clutter the picture. I delight in stripping out every indicator I possibly can, rather than surrounding myself with more and more of them. I gave up paid employment at the end of 1997 to trade shares for a living instead. It worked, despite the pitifully small capital sum I began with. In my spare time I'm a craftsman in wood, clay, brick and stone. And occasionally a poet.
