Probably due to consistency and cash pile, hopefully once CKN (now old liabs, court cases etc are gone) can prove consistency, it will get a much higher rating...IMO!

Hi QS9, still around, bought this one at 380 cause I thought it was overdone, providing the business doesn't tank I'll be holding, at the level I bought the div. is providing a good income, got a few shares like that at the mo making good capitol on them but dont wanna sell cause the divi's too rich. Hold BMS as well.

Just noticed Braemar results from 2 days ago. Haven't looked in depth, but the headlines are the best in their history. Augurs well for CKN, I guess.

Unaudited preliminary results for the year ended 28 February 2009

Braemar Shipping Services plc ("Braemar" or the "Group"), a leading
international provider of broking, consultancy, technical and other services to
the shipping and energy industries, today announces full year unaudited results
for the year ended 28 February 2009.

FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS
* Pre-tax profit before amortisation up 14% to GBP17.3m (2008: GBP15.2m).
* Pre-tax profit up 10% to GBP16.2m (2008: GBP14.7m).
* Basic EPS from continuing operations up 16% to 56.70p (2008: 48.99p).
* Cash generated from operating activities GBP21.0m (2008: GBP21.2m).
* Cash at 28 February 2009: GBP25.2m (29 Feb 2008: GBP21.6m).
* Final dividend 15.5p per share (up 3%), full year 24.0p (2008: 23.00p) up 4%.

OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
* Strongest results in Braemar's history.
* Increased diversification of marine services.
* Estimated forward order book deliverable in 2009/10 - GBP29m (US$42m)
(2008:GBP27m, US$53m).
* Non-broking businesses now 25% of group operating profits.*

122p eps pre exceptionals looks a very creditable performance, better than a lot of analysts were expecting I bet.

Considering the yield is covered around 3 times and they have net cash these look cheap to me, right at the bottom of the shipping cycle too in all liklihood with the BDI rising.


68p divi over 14 months here out.

HIGHLIGHTS from Final Results RNS

• Second consecutive year of record growth; underlying operating profit up 44%
to GBP38.0m (2007: GBP26.4m)
• Expansion of global franchise with new full service offices opened in Geneva, Delhi, Hamburg, Perth and Brisbane
• Investment Services business, a key strategic area of development, received
regulatory consent in the UK
• Settlement reached with Sovcomflot and Novoship

The board is recommending a Final dividend of 26p (2007: 26p). The interim
dividend was 16p (2007: 14p) giving a total dividend of 42p, an increase of 5%. For those on Register on 29th May and it is Paid 12th June
