Ok NP :) 10.5 is still very cheap though. Lets hope we see the multiple upped over the coming weeks- I'm looking for 1100p to be established before the end of the year!

Minuteman:

What figure are you using for your EPS calculations? I have just checked at I still reckon ~10.5 on a share price of 1000p is correct.

Would PE not be between 7 & 7.5 based on a similar result in H2 at nearly a tenner SP?

NET cash at £60M, but about £17M of that is earmarked for those hefty bonus's so far I reckon.

Given such a positive story, eps up 26% etc , the price really should move up over the next few days as the analysts and fund managers get to grips with the Interims. In the meantime I will be buying on any dips in the price.

Yes very nice set of results.
Puts CKN on a P/E of 10.5 (on the current ~1000p SP) if these results are in line with FY results. I wonder if this means we can expect to finally see this consistently trade over the 1000p level?

Personally I think the current financials justify a share price of about 1350p.

Obviously the court case is holding this back, (and I assume it is going to continue for a very long time yet) but if the dollar strengthens towards the end of this year (which could well happen IMO) the BDI holds up, and barring some catastrophe in the markets, I think we could be looking at around 1100p come the end of the year- even with the ongoing court case.

Tim Harris, Chairman said: "The result for the first half was encouraging and
reflected both a strong shipping market and the benefits which are now coming
through from the acquisition of businesses and teams in key business lines.
This solid first half result establishes a good platform for the full year."

Richard Fulford-Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Clarksons commented: "We are
optimistic that 2007 will prove to be a strong year for Clarksons. As a result
of our strategy to increase the spread of our global businesses and the strength
of our forward order book, we are confident that despite turbulence in financial
markets in August, we should produce full year profits in line with management
expectations and continue to grow our position as the world's leading shipping
services group."

Sounds like it should be all quite positive- despite the weak dollar and the legal case.
