Just PoG (and therefore CEY and AU) being off a bit. Too much to hope that the deal did not get the necessary votes this morning, though not understanding why the voting results are yet to be RNSed.

Come on CEY, release that RNS. You must have had it drafted and ready - you just need to slot in the figures. Show us that if we went down we at least went down fighting.

I've seen nothing to suggest they plan to list in London.

AngloGold don’t trade on the LSE

Larry Laffer and Zangdook28, Thanks for your information and thoughts above:

No RNS yet - was anyone on here at the meetings?

AngloGold don’t trade on the LSE. if you want to invest in them you will need to check your broker can deal in USA stocks and you should complete a W-8EN form (amongst others).

There is an epic code (LSE:0HFY) listed on LSE but it has no activity associated with it. It appears dormant. AngloGold did a number of years ago publish documents saying they were listed on the LSE. It could be a throwback to those days.

Whether to invest or not is down to your own risk profile for stocks and the likely hood of a return on the investment. If the USA price (epic NYSE:AU) drops to about $25 or lower, not likely at this gold price, then they maybe worth a punt. But as I have said regularly they are not without a number of issues in their operations. Withholding tax is also an issue for UK investors.

What will the London Stock Market Ticker be for Ashanti Gold ?
Can I buy into the share after the takeover if it happens?I
I sold off all my Cey recently as I was worried about the uncertainty of the takeover etc.
Would it make sense to buy back in?

Looking forward to those voting results on Monday morning. Hoping that the current bid fails, but no third party appears to have intervened so far and I am not seeing signs of a significant rebellion. You never know though.

Not being an AU fan, I came close not that long ago to selling my CEY in the market and using some of the proceeds to buy more Newmont. Absolutely did not see Newmont crashing like it just has. Even the majors have to be part of a balanced diet.

If Centamin want to pay out a dividend of 10c per share (e.g. because the gold price is high and the merger has been unexpectedly delayed) then Anglogold would almost certainly just reduce the price being paid per share by 10c (cash element and/or conversion ratio).

If the deal goes through and we stay invested then we get cash payouts (other than the cash element of the acquisition price) via our Anglogold shares, not via our Centamin shares.

No what I meant was they will pay a dividend if the price of gold goes to 3000 as the share price will likely rise to 2.00 or near

Anglogold have the right to reduce the price being paid if Centamin pays out any additional dividend beyond the one that had already been declared at the date the offer was announced, don't they?

You will if the price of gold hits 3000

If the takeover goes through you won't get any more dividends from CEY.

The last 10 days have seen the most extraordinary lift in the gold price, and that's on top of the great upward trend since Feb. It really makes decisions difficult but exciting. Gold is taking over the growth mantle from AI !!

Thanks for that so I am going to set my sell price at that just incase a rival bid comes in most helpful

Centamin are tracking the Anglo bid value less about 2p. If exchange rate stays the same then 35 is about 12% above now so Centamin would be about 195p

I must admit I'd rather hang on to Centamin rather than be taken over. The board don't hold a large %age of the shares so maybe all hope isn't lost.

200p would require AU to trade at $35.50.

Also voting it down but at as my holdings are less than 0.1% I suspect it won't make much difference.
