17/10/2024 12:16 | Seen this happen with ds smith Seems a lot of takeovers happening now interest rates are starting to fall | tnt99
17/10/2024 12:10 | So keep the AG shares and reinvest the cash part of the deal in more of them | rumpy pumpy
17/10/2024 12:07 | Or is it another bidder!! | tnt99
17/10/2024 11:44 | 1gw Anglo up near 4% in Joburg today. Anglo generated around 200m cash first half this year, Centamin 100m just in latest QUARTER. Therefore if you like how Centamin is doing going forward it could give Anglo a rerating. I would definitely stay in in my trading account if it was not for wanting to realise my Cey cgt before it rises. I will stay in with our ISAs and take a view next year Also 1gw just to add I really value your intelligent posts | sotolo
17/10/2024 11:12 | As you say, mainly a swap. If shareholders make the effort I reckon they could force some kind of increase in the currently very modest cash element. | arlington chetwynd talbott
17/10/2024 11:10 | There may sadly be some truth in that. It is up to the shareholders to fight their own corner. | arlington chetwynd talbott
17/10/2024 11:01 | The shareprice is going higher because the Anglogold shareprice is going higher and the "saleprice" is mainly a swap into Anglogold shares, not a fixed cash sum. Anglogold is now showing higher, in the premarket, than the $28.80 pre-offer price which was used as the basis of the 163p in the offer announcement. | 1gw
17/10/2024 10:34 | The sale might still be voted down or key shareholders could force improved terms ahead of the voting deadline. The current offer is increasingly looking like daylight robbery. | arlington chetwynd talbott
17/10/2024 10:18 | Why would the share peice go higher now as the sale price has been agreed | weaverbeever
17/10/2024 09:27 | On my calculations, at the AU pre-market price of $28.52 and the xrate of $1.298, the offer is now at 163p, the number quoted in the offer based on the pre-offer prices. | 1gw
17/10/2024 09:19 | We're being sold for a breeze, it's all so bent | astjgroom
17/10/2024 09:07 | If I ask ChatGPT whether Centamin or Anglogold is better-placed to profit from a sustained high gold price, it comes down on the side of Anglogold due to "its larger, more diversified portfolio, its operational flexibility across different jurisdictions, and its capacity for expansion. Its ability to scale production across its mines globally gives it significant upside potential in a strong gold market." I take it that those arguing that Centamin is being "stolen" here don't buy this. Personally I still plan to take my remaining gold profits towards the end of this takeover saga, but for those believing in "higher for longer" on the gold price does Anglogold paper post-takeover not offer more risk-adjusted upside than standalone Centamin? | 1gw
17/10/2024 08:58 | No time like the present, sid. | rose_by_another_name
17/10/2024 08:55 | legg96 Why am I not surprised, but I don’t see anyway that it can be resolved. from a retail investors perspective there’s something very odd about the offer and the timing of it. Not from Anglo’s point of view, that’s pretty opportunistic, but solely from Centamin’s angle. I looked back through the 4 previous quarter results and Centamin certainly has had its fair share of “luck” in each quarter. 🙄 | larry laffer
17/10/2024 08:43 | What is the crucial date for making up ones mind to vote for or against please? | sidarthur2
17/10/2024 08:40 | Sotolo I hope not. | larry laffer
17/10/2024 08:19 | was it answered? | zangdook
17/10/2024 08:07 | My brother in law submitted a question as soon as the broadcast began. It was untrue that there no questions. | legg96
17/10/2024 08:04 | Larry almost certain institutions will accept | sotolo
17/10/2024 07:57 | Horgan was never going to take any questions that could in anyway be associated with the offer. Without the restrictions on what they can comment I reckon there would have been a few questions about the forward plan and the good result in Q3. Everyone is concentrating on the takeover offer. With such a good Q3 why hasn’t Horgan increased the guidance. To please his masters at AngloGold. Maybe he has done, in the guise of the offer confidentiality agreement. $242m in cash and liquid assets gifted to AngloGold if the takeover goes through. 🤬 I’m voting NO Unless an institutional holder is looking for some readies at present then they hopefully will vote NO as well. With these sorts of results the divi payout should have improved as well as the share price. | larry laffer
17/10/2024 07:43 | There were no questions, I imagined I would have time to ask one while listening to answers but didn’t. | sotolo
17/10/2024 07:41 | These results may flush out another bidder with luck.... | beeezzz |
