22/10/2024 09:58 | Probably doesn't make much difference whether you sell just before or just after execution, apart from the normal market exposure. One difference is that the proceeds will be in GBP if you sell Centamin and USD if you sell AU. If you will incur an FX spread to convert that may be a consideration. | elbrus55
22/10/2024 09:54 | I'm not keen on holding Anglo Gold shares. Dividend yield is too low for my needs. The question is hold until The takeover then sell Anglo Gold or sell Centamin now. Is there a consensus on the best option. | sg31
22/10/2024 09:40 | 200p before the deal date and you'll see the scorch marks on the ground!!! :) | geckotheglorious

22/10/2024 09:10 | Norry it depends where you put the money, if you had put it in Fresnillo, as I was suggesting when takeover was announced you would be way ahead. I am kicking myself for hanging on but now wondering whether to sell and reinvest in Pan American Silver despite would have been better sooner? Other thing is to keep the cash. | sotolo
22/10/2024 08:11 | Would love it to reach 2.00 before the deal is done onwards and upwards | tnt99

19/10/2024 08:38 | astj, thanks have been looking, they have already doubled in last year and timing is a question. The rumours surrounding Brics are making me think I will start selling a few on Monday, I have never seen the gold market so buoyant as it has been for the last 10 days. | harry_david
19/10/2024 07:07 | PAF Harry. They will double in the next year. | astjgroom
19/10/2024 07:01 | Thaks for the thoughts on reinvesting. I am definitely putting any sale proceeds back into gold mining. I want to have some protection from what may be a major problem with the US fiscal deficit. They now spend about 8% more than the government income. They will be bankrupt in a short while if this continues. | harry_david
18/10/2024 22:02 | Tnt99 You said why not wait from the dividend from CEY before selling. I thought that CEY's dividends were usually paid in June and in September | loveunow
18/10/2024 19:12 | Sotolo - FWIW my current plan is to sell about 1/2 my remaining holding late next week, ahead of the vote (just in case). I would be amazed if it isn't voted through by a large majority on the share count, absent a last-minute counterbid, but the "majority in number" of shareholders vote is a bit more difficult to be very confident about given the opinions being expressed on the bulletin boards. Having said that, I guess the company will see the retail votes coming in ahead of the meeting (given it's in Jersey) and if the "majority in number" is looking tight they can probably work their way through the register very quickly to try to persuade additional institutional voters to participate. The other 1/2 I will probably keep until closer to the delisting (maybe even beyond), hoping that the market will warm to the acquisition once the vote is out of the way and push Anglogold's price higher if the gold price remains around current levels. I'm driven mainly by a desire to bank the profit here on a long-held position while the gold price is high. As I've said before, I'm not a goldbug and tend to fear the gold price will find a reason to fall back again before too long, pulling miners' shareprices with it. | 1gw
18/10/2024 19:03 | True about Ariana though the future looks bright with the recent acquisition of Rockover and the recent opening of tavsan Who would you suggest in this gold arena Uk or USA | tnt99
18/10/2024 17:36 | But why not wait for the cash from Anglo and the dividend from centamin Before you sell anything? | tnt99 |
