Prelims update

I am reliably informed by someone who has rang Centamin that the prelims will be released on Monday. - Hope this is helpful.

Are the markets selling off ahead of the non-farm US payrolls later today? That could explain the weakness here.

Was just going to say, another possible big fly in the ointment today is the non-farm US payrolls at 1.30pm our time.

If they show more than 200,000 jobs created in December I think gold could fall another $8 or so as it could indicate another Fed hike sooner rather than later.

arab3, lets put that into context. You said you had already sold your oilers, which i thought was a pretty smart move at the time seeing as they were coming off their highs. I too had lightened the load :-)

There may have been some misinformation re prelims. - According to sharescope the prelims are due 1/2/17 and the Annuals 5/4/17.

The date of 6/1/17 was picked up from info posted on LSE. Apologies if anything I posted has caused a problem to some.

I'm guessing and hoping against the normal price drop after good results.
Crazy to sell with the likely hood of the CC being settled and maybe a special divi ;-)

Last year from the mining journal -

Centamin has previously said excess cash would be returned to shareholders, qualifying ‘excess’ as more than $300 million.

The company has now moved through that mark and at the end of the period had $388 million sloshing around its bank account, prompting speculation the full-year results to be delivered early in 2017 will carry a special dividend.

Saw - It's been a long time hasn't it. - I agree with your sentiment. We talk about fundamentals, charts, key data points etc. but the enduring force here is the skill and expertise of the management. - We've not had to go through the dilution dilemmas that many shareholders suffer in this sector. The company has delivered and through that delivery has become a self-financing mega-money machine, generating a company that were it not for the cc would be multiples of it's present valuation. - There is so much anticipation lying ahead it's unreal.

Of course, the real value of this absolute gem of a company will be revealed over the years to come :-)
