Fall seems odd when buys exceed sells by quite a margin.
Could be thatMMs are short of stock !

Rebs, you are absolutely right. I happen to own a pretty large stake in both so am a very happy chap. The only differences really are that Randgold have several producing assets and greater scale (so less risk)and that Centamin have the uncertainty around the court case etc. I'm not sure that these justify the price difference as CEY have decided to distribute a much higher % of profit a dividend. I am personally weighing up whether to switch some money out of Randgold and into CEY and a few others.

As well as P/E it's worth looking at Market value/book value, but again this is favourable to CEY. Using this would justify a price of £2.50 and I'd be happy with that in the short term.

With gold on a roll, no major need to make hasty decisions.

Happy days!!

Just something to ponder. - If my calculations are correct, (no guarantee) then comparing with Randgold at todays close of play and using P/E ratios as the base for calculation, parity with our Peer would mean a share price of £6.25. Even if we were to achieve only 50% parity, we are talking about a share price of around £3.00 - You do the maths ! - Rebs.

Saw - Go for it - Your star's in the ascendency just now. - Yer never know, being happy might just be the answer to many things.

There was a time when meadow, grove and stream
The earth and every common sight
To me did seem, apparelled in celestial light
The glory and the freshness of a dream.

It's beautiful when you're happy, content and in love - One of the great experiences of 'Life on Earth'. :-)

Kinnell, Saw. - You OK - Just shows when you're wealthy and handsome you can sing all day long. - And to think I knew you when you had nowt. - Keep singing and we'll all join in - well, most of us. - For the next turn we'll have a rendition of 'Cumberland Gap' by Lonnie AKA Juju. Big hand for Juju. :-)

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow

One night in a disco on the outskirts of Frisco
I was cruisin' with my favorite gang
The place was so borin', filled with out-of-towners tourin'
I knew that it wasn't my thing

I really wasn't carin' but I felt my eyes starin'
At a guy who stuck out in the crowd
He had the kind of body that would shame Adonis
And a face that would make any man proud

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow

The champion of dance, his moves would put you in a trance
And he never leaves the disco alone
Arrogance but not conceit as a man he is complete
My creme de la creme, please take me home

He wears the finest clothes, the best designers, heaven knows
Ooo, from his head down to his toes
Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci, he looks like a still
That man is dressed to kill

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
(I've ever seen)

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen
(I love your moves)

Oh what, wow
He's the greatest dancer
Oh what, wow
That I've ever seen

Regards £2 comments:

In 2010 CEY reached an all time high of 194p, gold hit an all time high of around $1900 per oz.

Since then CEY has started paying dividends & the mine, mill etc have all been progressed according to plan.

CEY does seem to have an affinity with the price of gold (which isn't all that surprising really).

(rough figures) With a recent high of 180p & gold at $1200 per oz, what will the share price be if gold reaches $1800 per oz?
With costs at $600 per oz, profit per ounce increase from $600 per oz to $1200. I.e. It doubles. Should this imply a doubling of the share price? Throw in Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast & exploration in Egypt (once CC has been resolved), how much could that share price be?

I suspect that gold will rise this year as a result of Brexit / Trump and other countries in the eurozone. I don't know much about that though so would be interested in any one that does letting us know their thoughts.

I'm hopping to have a close above 180p so I can be comfortable there won't be a pull back & then I'm looking a new all time high (195p+). I have a few that I can't sell until April as I've used up my CGT allowance. I'm unsure whether to sell & spend the cash or to bed & ISA though!

QS99 - £2.00 will be a significant psychological threshold. - It'll be tough to breach, but if we can make it and hold the position, I don't think it'll be too long before we see £3.00. - IMO - Then, where from there?

I believe it's slowly dawning on people that it's going to be a pretty choppy year for the markets. It's fascinating to see how the news media are gradually starting to latch on to the gold story. It's still very much in the early stages of a strong bull run IMHO.

Morning guys and gals - I think.

'We are the music makers
We are the dreamers of dreams'

Interesting times hey? - Uncertainty is our friend and boy are there uncertain times ahead. - Apparently, we who have the vision to see the unfolding catastrophe and the opportunity that gold presents, are in the minority. - Somehow, I don't think that's gonna last for too long.
