All I can say is that my email account must get 15 companies offing deals which include early 24.

To be fair I fully appreciate it's a sales email. However we have struggled to find suitable cruises for Feb/March this year.

Sounds more like a sales pitch unless you've tried yourself and can confirm very little is available.

I know that P&O are getting fully booked on many cruises. This email arrived overnight!

"I recently wrote that advance bookings for most cruise lines are at an all-time high. Since then, many lines have announced that they are experiencing a record-breaking year, with a high percentage of 2024 inventory already booked. This unprecedented volume of bookings is leading to a scarcity of cabins, particularly between now and the end of August.

With demand exceptionally strong, I recommend booking as soon as possible, as waiting could cause you to miss out on your preferred cabin category or sailing.

Call us today to book your next cruise. Our cruise counselors are standing by to help with the many cruise deals that are still available as of now."

Now it has emerged that one of those business ventures is taking his famous restaurant to the high seas – or the Norwegian fjords to be precise. Starting in June, Roux will open “Le Gavroche residencies at sea” on board Cunard’s luxury Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2 voyages from the UK to Norway.

The only thing wrong with this thread is that clown stansmith1 posting messages to himself.

I think he has more than just one screw loose.

That sounds interesting. But 50% of what? Any links to any revved cruises?

pierreloli guess the point i was making is that on marella the drinks are not free - they are in your price - on p&o, like you say pay an extra 600, get 400 obc, so for 200 you get to pick your room which we find worth it, then your first 400 of drinks is of course paid but not free, its very rare to go to a port where they are charging non select passengers for transfer...

Stan, you'll certainly pay if you get drinks or extra obc on p&o. That's the select price plus the drinks package price. We never do that - one trick they use is say for only £400 extr, you'll get £400 obc plus a free bus ride out the port when they supply one. But the 400 you pay is pp, and the 400 you get is per cabin.

Other tricks, which work!, are things like 'from £600 with free 200 obc', only to get the obc youve got to pay for select, so the cruise then costs 800pp with 200obc pc.

Agents like iglu say 'from £1000, and up to £200 off if you book via us online'

What that means is it costs a grand after the 200 quid off, and not 800 quid. That must be illegal but they do it all the time.

Saw the results of a women's punch up in the laundry on the Oriana. The loser, who we had lunch with the next day, had a bad black eye and broken glasses, and she was a big meaty union leader - i wouldn't like to meet the lady who punched her! That was 2017 when clientele was more refined than today - so laundries have always been the place for punchups.

Who was it that told the story of chocolate in the tumble drier after a laundry argument Arvia. That is so believable.

P&O effectively have all inclusive drinks now, I've had two cruises in the last year with free parking and over £600 on board credit. That all went on booze :)Had near back to back on Aurora and Arvia, one was an old folks home (and I am not kidding or exaggerating) and and the other was hen do city and full of people who had no respect for anything.

Interesting chat...have never been on Marella, but have been on all of P&O ships (except Arcadia) plus Oriana and Oceania - the latter are no more and were their best two ships by a mile.Ventura and Azura are hands down the worst two cruise ships I've ever been on. Iona and Arvia are fantastic ships, but choc full of riff raff and need to be avoided. That leaves you Aurora, Brittania and probably Arcadia which are not bad. Currently on Celebrity Infinity, one of their smallest ships, but a whole different level to P&O and everyone else for that matter.Princess are excellent, RCL a bit raucous but still good.

The problem with Marella is the all inclusive has attracted plenty of Wetherspoons customers :-(

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a drink or two, but these are on it from first thing in the morning !!

Oh and they haven't enough staff, so they are always fire fighting.
