07/12/2023 12:20 | Friend of mine booked Celebrity Infinity in March - out of Athens doing the Greek islands / Turkey Pricing that really nicely atm - may look at that on board Of course there all pushing up the extras now Celebrity have taken the crew gratuities out of their all inc price I notice | panshanger1
07/12/2023 11:41 | We did 2 back to back cruises on Celebrity Eclipse 12 months ago - Sydney - round NZ, then the Australian Gold Coast. Then in May this year 2 back to back cruises on Azura.Celebrity is more upmarket than P&O.We have booked another cruise with Celebrity (Solstice) next October - Sydney to Singapore. Having sailed with P&O previously, they have definitely gone downhill. Quantity not quality. | kirtonender9
07/12/2023 11:24 | pans/pierreim on celebrity infinity in jan, i think its their smallest ship - got a half price deal on 10 day jaunt, still around the price of a 14 day p&o trip, have heard they have cut back too, expecting it to have a few more frills like rcl, without the belly flop contests, the prices should ensure there are no riff raff....all set up for american pricing though, drinks package is £90 pp pd - obviously no one will pay that and its just to make all inclusive packages that only americans can buy seem like good value---just booked 17 day june trip on arcadia, hopefully its like oceania or oriana | stansmith1
07/12/2023 10:27 | No it's not bad at all, plus it's waiter service. It used to be cheaper on p&o though. Lots of northerners bussed down the M1 for p&o cruises, so probably got to keep the beer price low. | pierre oreilly
07/12/2023 10:02 | £5.50 a pint isn't bad, most pubs are close to that and they don't have a captive audience. | kasamavic
07/12/2023 09:32 | Ventura now in vigo a day early to avoid the worst of the weather. A bit bumpy last night with 65 knot relative wind.Pub full last night and more expensive than lat time at 5.50 a pint. They're really clamping down on excess bringing booze on board, warnings that drinking outside cabin will have 20 quid corkage charged .As far as I can tell, we're sailing full. More dancing on here than even Cunard muster. Food ok, less choice and smaller portions and only 3 courses in an mdrs. Defo not as down-market as Iona,,, yet. By chance there are 4 dancing couples we know from other cruises, plus one couple we arranged to meet. | pierre oreilly
07/12/2023 08:04 | Brits barely use these restaurants on P&O as it is. Now there will be less reason to use them (so presumably the will start cutting back on the included offerings now). | stansmith1
06/12/2023 21:25 | Carnival's Bold Decision to Hike Dining Fees Up To 51% Cruise line stocks were up for CCL, RCL, and NCLH. | smurfy2001
06/12/2023 17:22 | Carnival Cruise Line quietly raises another key price Despite reaching revenue levels not seen since before the Covid pandemic, Carnival has decided to make another price increase. www.thestreet.com/tr | smurfy2001

06/12/2023 16:11 | Couple of good calls, don't wait too long to cash in | jan-mar
06/12/2023 13:35 | Added 1150Euro rate cuts closer & faster by the look. 85pc March and Brent off again hugely helping med & long term on costs | the white house
04/12/2023 22:14 | panshanger totally agree, arvia/iona are lovely boats but busy and full of riff raff… p&o becoming un-bookable unfortunately… | stansmith1
04/12/2023 17:45 | Dec 19th possibly -0.14 eps consensus, which would be their lowest loss. They've beat last 4 quarters. | smurfy2001
04/12/2023 15:20 | Between the 18th and 23rd December | jan-mar
04/12/2023 15:15 | Hopefully a bit more sedate than on my recent cruise on the Arvia Bit too frantic with 5200 on board and a mixed demographic shall we say To get this and the Iona fairly full they have to offer some real value deals which is a bit of a double edged sword.A couple of unsavoury incidents on board l heard although I didn't see anything.Definitely going downmarket though with these 2 | panshanger1
04/12/2023 15:11 | Bang on the upper trend line. RSI overbought. Can this voyage continue? Wonder when the results will drop? Think the last ones were 21st Dec. | smurfy2001
04/12/2023 15:08 | Oil sinking, ships risingAdded again @ 11 | the white house
04/12/2023 14:19 | First time on Ventura tomorrow, great time to head South to the sun. Forecast is a bit bumpy through the Bay of Biscay, don't mind that and just reminds us were on a boat. Tried to negotiate a lower price since the price is now lower than we paid by a fair amount, but p&o would have none of it. Not my usual bargain cruise, but meeting others on board who organised it. Most people don't seem to be bothered about the cost, but I always like a good bargain, which this isn't (relatively). | pierre oreilly
01/12/2023 16:24 | Added 1050Strong Princess bookings and even stronger Cunard as per the RNS updates | the white house
01/12/2023 16:17 | The year 2024 is expected to be a milestone for global passenger traffic recovery as it reaches 9.4 billion passengers, surpassing the year 2019 that welcomed 9.2 billion passengers (102.5% of the 2019 level). | smurfy2001
26/11/2023 12:25 | Carnival UK withdraws 'fire-and-rehire' threat | smurfy2001
24/11/2023 10:54 | What a beautiful old lady the QM2 is. The only remaining ocean liner. Looking forward to being on her again in Feb for a month, what a privilege. -------------------- Cruise giant Carnival UK accused of plan to fire and rehire 900 crew. Carnival UK said: "We are categorically not making any redundancies and we will not dismiss and re-engage staff. In fact we have significantly increased our headcount across our fleet." So where's the story in that? They've been accused of something they aren't doing. Non-officer staff on Cunard work 9 months without a day off. And for each one working there are probably a thousand who'd like to work for them. I think there's an element of exploitation (that's why cruises are so cheap for what you get) which I dislike. In return cruise lines really look after their workers, e.g. during Covid, they we're kept employed until their contract ended and then the vast majority ferried back to their home country. This dispute, if there is one, seems to be with officer staff (not sure of they get any days off during their contract). Looks all perfectly normal to me - the company is negotiating with unions on an increase in pay. All seems a complete non story so far afaics. | pierre oreilly
