Pierre, Agencies will usually only rate a company's bonds as investment grade if the debt/EBITDA ratio is less than two. Click the link in my post above for S&P FY24 forecast.

My holding is at 775, long term hold that. I'll buy a trade position just below 1000p if it happens.

Not a bad set of results, the question is, will those be enough to drive the share price. The market seems to think not, already priced in. In my opinion the share will drift down again for the next few quarters. Hopefully interest rates will drop towards the end of 2024 which will make refinancing a better deal.

S&P Global Ratings upgraded Carnival’s credit rating two notches to “BB-” on Friday (Dec 22), a day after the cruise operator posted better-than-expected results, helped by relatively strong bookings and higher prices.

The upgrade is a step towards the company returning to investment-grade status, which it lost in 2020, during the early part of the pandemic.

I suppose there is always the risk of another pandemic which is now permanently etched in investors' minds.

Results yesterday were stellar but perhaps the "it is better to sell than to arrive" mob is selling a few now. It happens.

Smurfy (or anyone else) - what conditions do ccl have to fulfill before the agencies rerate them to investment grade? I doubt it's simply the level of debt, and much more the confidence that debt and coupons will be paid on time, but just guessing.

And where is the link between divis and investment grade status? Is it company law, just traditionally so, or just ccl's decision or somethnig else?

I'm just unclear on all this. tia.

Dividends in 2024 is not happening, but I am hoping for guidance that in 2025, dividends will be re-instated.JW

First they have to get to investment grade. They still have a mountain of debt to pay off before that happens. Dividends in 2024 is not happening.

For clarity my stop was hit this pm at £12.67 so it added another 50 free shares and a small profit so now have my stake plus small profit and now have 515 free shares and cash in my isa missed the later rise except with the free shares.

I am with you. Ignore the price fluctuations. Will hold for the dividends, which I, too, am looking at the end of 2024 for further guidance. If they can continue paying debt down at this rate, I am more than happy.JW

My average is £7.75 (75% return) but l want 200% return before l sell.

So l will continue to trade in the meantime if the opportunity arises. My last trade yielded 33% 😊

You said people were brave buying in at £8 when I suggested it was a good place to start. Now we're nearly 70% higher.
