greengiant & restassured, thanks (for posts 3859 & 7). However, that does not help me get a copy of the Investec report, or the other rebuttals.

So, can anyone point me at where I can read them?

Assuming t1ps don't have any out on loan.

I do think we are just going to have to be patient for the time being, but we appear to be steady. As Restassured commented earlier days away from the RNS that Hylas1 is in commercial service. Add to that some more contract wins.

Thanks marksnsparkle around £9m seems a lot for the size of the company

It looks as though the directors think it's a good time to buy and do not think the share price will fall much futher, they know what contracts are in the pipeline which will boost the share price.

Does anyone know the number of shorts out on AVN? if substantial there would be a massive short squeeze on the expected good news and these could rocket

gnm, I agree.

Perhaps, since it seems so crucial, the company could put an explanatory RNS out clearing all this up!

The direction of the shareprice is now as much to do with the technical aspects of the chart as with the sensible forward valuation of the company. Buyers are waiting to see if the price falls a bit further, in which case it is likely to drop to £4, or if it bumps north, which should restore it to £6.50.
This is totally wrong. Technical aspects of the chart should never drive the shareprice, it should be the other way around (I say this as a chartist).

You can be sure that the shorters plan is to get the head and shoulders pattern confirmed so that £4 becomes inevitable. To prevent this requires concerted buying. But fans of the stock are already fully loaded up so it needs fresh buyers of institutional size to get it going north again. The company's PR people should be organising this...assuming their story is solid!

If you call multiple trades of 101 shares dumping, you need to learn more about the stockmarket.

It is the shorters deliberately creating a false market with multiple interval timed small trades.

Gnmartin,

I have read the Investec report(can't download it), for a better understanding you need to read the DS and Cenkos rebuttal. I admit to not knowing how a satellite works or data rates. What I do know however, is that we are using more data than ever, and there is a huge Market need, not just for rural areas but more importantly as a back up for big business.

Someone dumping and getting out in a hurry. Why? Rights issue ??

Or the four other analysts.

If you are seriously interested ,I suggest your read all the research.

There is no "paucity" of information out there.

There are also several large writes up from subscription newsletters.

There is a concerted bear raid.

Is there any way I can get hold of the Investec report (mentioned in post 3819, and said to be dated 24 Feb)?

And can anybody say anything useful about the difference between GHz and Gb? It is all very well pointing out that GHz is a measure of frequency (of the carrier, presumably), and Gb a measure of the data rate, but that is not very helpful without knowledge of the number of bits transmitted per cycle. Some posts have implied that (roughly?) ten bits are transmitted per cycle. Can anyone confirm that, preferably with a reference to some reliable technical data?

The situation looks interesting, but at the moment there is a paucity of reliable information about. It is just a question of whether we believe poster X, whose son is in the business, or poster Y, whose informant is an analyst.

At least TW realised his mistake and quickly rectified it and his gold fund has more than doubled. It's not only TW recommending this stock , TB of rhps and various brokers and investment trusts are also keen

Even though the share price has dropped the mm's are not offering the same volume of shares as last week. To me this suggests that the situation has stabilised. For example, last week, I bought 80k shares relatively easily, in lots of 10 or 25 thousands. This morning, the mm's, whilst still offering 15k are doing so at 520. This was not the case last week.

Personally, I don't mind shorters, SC has provided significant debate and for verification in the form of the director buys of the business model. For that, I am actually thankful. The drop in the share price is just a temporary blip on what I hope will be a very profitable next 2 years.

Exactly, restassured. Odd time to be short.

Yes, yorgi, TW did tip MML. It was one of his favourites and a core holding in his gold fund. He kept on tipping it positively on t1ps right up until he sold the lot in his fund and only then said he had got the risk factors wrong and was unhappy with the political situation in the Phillipines and declared it a sell on t1ps. Reiterated as a buy on 1/12/10, sold from his fund on 3/12/10 and declared a sell on t1ps on 5/12/10. Obviously it would be wrong to suggest that he was trying to hold the price up while he sold, but I can see why SC wouldn't neccessarily believe what TW says about a stock where he is long and would want to check with his original source ...

added at 515 on 25th Feb so looks like stalemate, shorters are mostly short term and likely to seek better opportunities elsewhere, directors constant buying should stablise these ready for the next leg up

Maybe not shooting up but in the blue so not so sick. It is going to be a fairly slow recovery in my opinion but the RNS of Hylas1 in service will give us a boost I would expect.

Chrissey made a good point as well last night which is well worth keeping in mind.

"I'm more of the 'nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd' view and unfortunately, SC, for whatever reason, has enough people hanging on his every word and action and on that basis, right or wrong (morally or technically), he can't fail, can he."

Debate is not his strong point. Statements aimed to unnerve par for the course.
