28/2/2011 16:49 | Oh right thanks restassured, mind you thought as much they would want to undermine the directors buying I expect, if its illegal the regulators should have a look, disinformation, wrong analysis, illegal shorts, something funny going on here | ![]() malcolmmm
28/2/2011 16:47 | Well it is really up to our management to notify the regulators, but whether that will make any difference I some how doubt | ![]() yorgi
28/2/2011 16:30 | No idea Malcolmmm.....I've only just got back in and on line. Perhaps that was all they could sell at a time on line without phoning | ![]() yorgi
28/2/2011 16:24 | Someone selling in lots of 562 shares, seems strange, about 13 of them, why would anyone do that? | ![]() malcolmmm
28/2/2011 16:22 | Looks like the shorters winning the day again I'm afraid. | ![]() yorgi
28/2/2011 14:27 | Ditto AVM. | ![]() johnrxx99
28/2/2011 11:39 | I am long avocet as well, nice rise today on a couple of good RNS, now 229p robhammers - 28 Feb'11 - 09:19 - 3780 of 3785 s. cackwell said short avocet at 1.30. now 2.20 . he gets loads wrong | ![]() malcolmmm
28/2/2011 10:55 | yes yorgi a no-brainer imo, sorry for ramp, also SC is shorting BPC on which he was long a few weeks ago so he can change his mind quite quickly,BPC has been givern lots of broker buys. it's all about making a buck where you can I expect, in the short or long term. | ![]() malcolmmm
28/2/2011 10:22 | Agreed Malcolmmm. O/T I see you SRT is doing well this morning :-) | ![]() yorgi
28/2/2011 10:18 | Shorters will take seriously the director buys of £550,000 and nervous holders will also be reassured.Director buys usually mean that good news (if you are long) is on the way | ![]() malcolmmm
28/2/2011 10:16 | Few Walter Mittys creaping in. | ![]() argy2
28/2/2011 10:07 | Edging on back up again now. I have not followed him that much Robhammers but I'm quite sure your right. Until we have some contract wins RNS's and in service RNS it will be a battle between the shorters and those seeing what a steal we are at this price and follow the directors lead and buy or add to their holding. | ![]() yorgi
28/2/2011 09:19 | s. cackwell said short avocet at 1.30. now 2.20 . he gets loads wrong | ![]() robhammers
28/2/2011 08:57 | Bought a few more today. | ![]() someuwin
28/2/2011 08:54 | Volvo I agree that it is not always the case that they are right. On this occasion I really do believe they are correct and so much so that I have added considerably (for me). One of my sons, who is an expert in this field, assures me that what the 'shorters' are stating is utter tosh. Each to their own. | ![]() orado
28/2/2011 08:43 | Orado if you have been trading long enough you will know that director buys are not always a sign of confidence. I watched the Connaught boss and directors buy 2.5m pounds worth of share and within 5 months the company was bust. Although I think you are right here. | ![]() volvo
28/2/2011 08:37 | Directors would not be buying in such volume if they were not 100% sure. At these prices it is a no brainer. Have added a further 25,000 myself in the last couple of trading days. | ![]() orado
28/2/2011 08:32 | Well he lost on his football bet Volvo :-) I'm quite sure nobody here would have followed that tip ! | ![]() yorgi
28/2/2011 08:25 | The directors are buying on the contract flow in the next few months | ![]() malcolmmm
28/2/2011 08:22 | A genius or just an perpetual loser? Simon Cawkwell - 25 Feb'11 - 16:15 - 3678 of 3772 Gentlemen, I am sorry not to have submitted copy today but I am in the West Indies for a short break and about to go out to lunch. My view of AVN has not changed. Simon Cawkwell - 07966 426 795 PS: I forgot to add that I have bet £20,000 at 11/10 on Newcastle in tomorrow'a match. Those who have lost on AVN (and will lose more if still invested) are advised to do the same. | ![]() volvo
28/2/2011 08:13 | Superg1 makes a good point about this share rising on expectation, and it is a very valid point. Of course this share has risen significantly on expectation alone. After all in valuing any business, you would look at it's discounted future cash flows, and at the moment, there really are none to talk about. However, that does not mean that the company is not going to deliver on it's expectations, in part it has all ready done so. Also, the expectations have not finished, we still have the go live, Hylas 2 & 3 and contract news over the next 2 years. By it's very nature, if the company continues to deliver on the expectations, I can see no reason why we will not see a steady rise over a 2 year basis. In that regard, I can see no logic behind shorting it. But each to their own. Gg | ![]() greengiant
28/2/2011 08:07 | They usually know rather more than the rest of us. | ![]() restassured
28/2/2011 08:04 | You get the impression that the Directors are all scratching around for every spare penny they have to buy more shares at these bargain levels ;o) | ![]() greyseal |
