Hertz is measure of frequency, or the speed that a electronic device, processor or computer operates at 1GHZ is 1,000,000,000 Hz. So the higher the number of GHZ the faster a device operates at.

A Bytes is 8 bits of data and a GByte is 1,000,000,000 Bytes so it is the measure of the quantity of data. Once again the higher the number of GBytes is the larger the quantity of data that can be held, stored or transferred.

I hope that explains it Blue. SC was not showing an understanding of it in his posting on Wednesday and somehow I don't think he does.

Resolve rural broadband problems


Rural or farming businesses are being urged to eliminate the frustration of a slow Internet connection and resolve to speed up with a faster and more reliable Satellite broadband connection.

"Often rural or end of line Internet connections can be annoyingly slow and unreliable. Although many landline connections are improving, they are still relatively slow when it comes to downloading and uploading large files. This can be very exasperating, particularly for a farming enterprise or rural-based business or organisation wanting to communicate effectively with their customers and suppliers. He points out that the solution to faster and more reliable rural broadband cannot rely on an improved landline, but needs to move forward to the new high speed satellite broadband service, which is now readily available. "Our new Satellite Broadband reaches places that other providers cannot reach. We can provide all our customers, based in rural areas or currently in areas with poor landline provision, a fast reliable and high quality telecoms service via a brand new satellite, launched just a month ago. It doesn't matter where you live or work, this solution will provide fast and reliable speeds."

The Satellite broadband service is provided by InTouch Systems in partnership with Avanti Communications. "Avanti is the UK's only licensed fixed service satellite operator and successfully launched its HYLAS 1 satellite, the first superfast broadband satellite in Europe, before Christmas. It is ready to "go live" any time now and it will revolutionise rural broadband services," says Steve.

He explains that there is a slightly higher initial start up or connection fee, as the kit and labour required tend to be more costly, but once up and running, costs are comparable to standard broadband. "And it will not slow down at peak times as many fixed line solutions can do," he says.

"Monthly charges depend on the connection speed of between 2 to 8 megabytes per second, upload speed of between 0.5 to 2 megabtyes per second and the monthly inclusive data up to 25 gigabytes. A system for up to 5 users, such as a farm office, monthly fees will be very similar to most other broadband fees, but reliability and capacity will be much improved. Installation usually takes a couple of hours and the satellite dish can be fitted to the side of the building, on a roof or on an area of open ground" he says.

Something else to take in is have a look at the number of shares held by investment funds and the names of these funds strong well known names.

Thats the point I'm making Argy. However almost any companies share price will fall when under an aggressive shorting with what has been a well planned campaign and a lot of people will follow EK because of his reputation. He often buys a stock then tells people by t1ps how undervalued the company is, up goes the share price and he sells banking a very healthy profit.

When I was in love with ERG a few years ago Evil came in and shorted it, his basic premise was correct, it was overvalued, but some of his reasoning was a bit spivvy. The share eventually went to zero, its high was 400p. Evil shorted CNT but the City was in love with it, he closed his short, turns out some of the Directors were pulling a fast one, share went to zero.

I don't think Evil precipitated this fall, there are people in the City (Investec) that think this is overvalued and that the Directors are being elusive with the orderbook / pipeline.

The Investec note and its reasoning is far more likely to be the core issue which is causing the share price to fall. Maybe you need to speak to the Investec analyst or read the note to see if it's garbage or that the analyst is on to something.

I recently traded XCH at 190p, it looked blue chip, big inside ownership, blue chip clients, it tasted sour a year ago and I bailed at 190p, share started to fall and Directors spent millions on shares, one analyst came out with a Sell, same guy who called CNT, and said the books were a mirage. Turns out the books have been a mirage, share now 50p and could implode if clients start defecting.

I think Cenkos have ridiculous price targets, I have noticed it on a couple of shares I follow, they really do need to tone it down!

I don't have a position in AVN, traded it last Spring so have kept tabs on the story.

i said i wouldnt add any more when it was over £6 but couldnt resist. added more at 5.05. may add more on monday. i am very happy to hold, this is a great company. i feel for those who were stopped out.
