Hope so - the UK business may have to stand on its own 2 feet again in the future..
Although I have noticed another US business - United Rentals - plant occasionally over here.

HSS has list its long standing contract with Amey: "HSS Hire Group Plc ("HSS" or "the Group") announces that, following a retender process it has been notified by Amey Plc of its decision to move to another supplier for the provision of its equipment rental managed service contract. The supplier agreement will end early December 2024 subject to any transitional services that HSS may agree with Amey. The agreement, which commenced in December 2015, accounted for approximately 7% of Group revenue and 10% of Group Adjusted EBITA in 2023."Wonder who won the tender?.....could be worth c £25m pa income, circa +4% Sunbelt UK?.

A very simplistic calc would be take AHT at URi's PE ratio - as per this site - would have AHT at £66

Good day trt

I think you are 'taking the mickey'.

A listing on the US Market is likely to result in a move upward.

Possible uk delisting not good. Could see quite a drop in the share price if this is confirmed.

Story repeated in the Daily Mail as well.

We did identify this possibility a while back.

Its been a gradual Americanisation process. Reporting in US $ is a big change giveaway.

I thought you were due to put in an appearance trt.

Yes it has closed below 5500 support but not by much.

I suspect US data tomorrow will decide the next move. Back up above support or continued drop to fill the gap at 5312 and possible support at the lower trendline and the 50% FIB.

RSI is indicating oversold.

I thought trt may have put in an appearance today. He's probably engaged in deep analysis elsewhere so i'll do the honours.

The markets are in more than a retrace currently. Trend reversal? maybe, Pullback? probably.

Viewing the AHT chart it will be seen I have added two dark blue dashed lines which indicate recent pullback lows. A close and hold below the lower one would be concerning to holders but of interest to likely buyers.

5300 has previously been a strong resistance zone and has also given support.

There is an earnings report on 18th June.

Hate speech! Never. I'll leave that to the PET Dreamers.

I would never imply anything about your reputation which remains unsullied....mostly.

As for PET share certificates the thought that you would own them never crossed my mind. As they are in considerable number (184 million at last count) and just short of worthless I thought you may have calculated they are cheaper than toilet tissue.

I shouldn't degrade PET shares, there are people who hold them in hope and others who have lost a lot of money. I consider myself fortunate to have down well with them many years ago.

bracke how could you think of me as so heathen ?
I am shocked and offended !
I question whether adding in that kind of detail and
the implications for my reputation verge on some sort of
hate speech !
You KNOW there is absolutely NO CHANCE
I would own any PET share certificates !

Good day fenners

I have a vision of you hunched over a boiling cauldron chanting incantations to increase the number and ferocity of hurricanes whilst adding eye of newt, leg of frog and PET share certificates.

From the BBC

"The North Atlantic could get as many as seven major hurricanes
of category three strength or over this year, which would be
more than double the usual number, the US weather agency NOAA has warned.

Normally you'd expect three major hurricanes in a season.

As many as 13 Atlantic hurricanes of category one or above
are forecast for the period, which runs from June to November. "

National grid announcement of £60bn infrastructure spend over the next 5 years.
seems about £9bn may be spent in the US
But it is a future infrastructure pointer
clearly energy networks are going to need a lot spent on them

Maybe they will be needing some plant with that.

Thank you MrbPink fibs look do much better! As for Sunak's pretty please Andrew - June cut was 50:50 apparently, now 19%, but as you say perhaps June's odds may get better?. Unfortunately Mr Hunts possible tax cuts may also scupper Andrew's hopes of taming inflation......it's a complete farce IMO.

Good day disc0

Given that the FED do not appear to be in any rush to cut the rate Mr Bailey will not be in any hurry either. Perhaps Mr Sunak may ask him nicely "pretty please Andrew" if he wouldn't mind making a few cuts before November.

EDIT - 'before November' should now read 'before July' "pretty, pretty, pretty please Andrew"

Todays opening gap filled so all is right in Ashtead World.....for now.

AHT DAILY - !!!!NOW WITH ADDED PINK!!!!
