17/5/2024 11:28 | Good day fenners "bracke - sell on rise and wait for the fall Can you stop giving the market ideas please?" ==================== Viewing the chart illustrates the market has been doing exactly what I posted long before I did so. Buy and hold continuously is not the best strategy with this share. Todays price action which is likely to be just a retrace or part of one sets the level where buyers disappear and sellers take over. A retrace to fill the gap at 5704 is likely and 5558 a fair possibility. Within the ascending channel it will be seen that the share price following a rise to the top line has dropped to the bottom line twice but has avoided doing so since April. A pullback to the bottom line should not be discounted if a US rate cut is not forthcoming in June. If it does drop to the bottom line I may even buy some myself!! AHT DAILY | bracke

17/5/2024 09:12 | Could easily see £55 at this rate. | trt
16/5/2024 13:46 | Good day Mirabeau Are you still holding for the dividend? | bracke
16/5/2024 13:44 | fenners The All Time High is 6572 which was intraday on Wed 08 December 2021. It closed at 6424. The Highest All Time Close was 6450 on Friday 12 November 2021. | bracke
16/5/2024 13:39 | I remember these when they were 2p | mirabeau
16/5/2024 13:37 | The US Futures held overnight which were higher than when AHT closed. The share price has moved up and the target is the unfilled gap at 6200 The only unfilled gap thereafter is at 6328. 6328 on the current rise will require more 'good' news from the US or 'Great Expectations' on the run up to results on 18 June. AHT DAILY | bracke
16/5/2024 13:21 | Just looked at the historical page here - it says AHT 5 year high was 6572. I did not know it got that high - presumably intra-day | fenners66
16/5/2024 13:18 | Good day fenners "one could argue that year after year of dividends increasing could be a reason to buy.True enough todays yield is low - but after a buy and hold ?" ==================== Yes that may be a good argument but I suggest it would have been far more profitable to sell on the large rises, wait for the fall and buy again i.e. rinse and repeat. Investors who like to just buy and hold and don't want the bother of buying and selling would have been better off buying a better yielding share. "Especially if they start increasing it by a more meaningful amount , say 25% p.a." ==================== Hmmmm - 25% p.a. but it would need to do so for several years to achieve a return that approaches the strategy I suggest above or reaching a reasonable level. | bracke
16/5/2024 10:43 | bracke one could argue that year after year of dividends increasing could be a reason to buy. True enough todays yield is low - but after a buy and hold ? Especially if they start increasing it by a more meaningful amount , say 25% p.a. | fenners66
16/5/2024 08:15 | Well Done Bracke, it looks like you called it right again with the AHT rise today after the US ended higher. Thanks | thompsonnic
15/5/2024 16:38 | Good day service The share price has pierced and closed above the top of the ascending channel and wedge but it needs the US Market to remain at the high level it has reached today. If the US drops off later AHT is likely to follow suit tomorrow when it opens. Apart from day traders you have to consider if investors are prepared to buy at the current level. The dividend is not an incentive to buy so profit has to come from an increase in the share price | bracke
15/5/2024 16:21 | Thanks bracke for your excellent charting as always. Looks like things are lifting off on AHT as I type. Hopefully we'll get another run at 6144 and possibly past it this time | servicewash
15/5/2024 14:28 | Good day disc0 Need to wait until US Cash opens. | bracke
15/5/2024 13:44 | Good day Mr bLooks like the "spike" has already happened on US CPI news.....but looks like a fat finger lol.US CPI as forecast but believe April's rise was 0.1% below what was expected. | disc0dave46
15/5/2024 13:02 | The chart is at an interesting juncture. The share price has reached the top of the ascending channel which is also the top of the ascending wedge. The top of the channel is a likely resistance level and the ascending wedge usually results in a fall BUT; today there is a lot of data from the US and the market is just waiting to leap up or at least spike up. AHT could easily try for 6144 again. AHT DAILY | bracke
15/5/2024 12:42 | Apologies a failed attempt at humour. | thompsonnic
15/5/2024 11:09 | servicewash is clearly observing AHT the all time high horizon is clearly on their agenda ,here. | fenners66
15/5/2024 09:26 | servicewash - Was your observation to do with AHT or PET. i am getting a bit confused. | thompsonnic
14/5/2024 14:02 | Looks like the volume has picked up considerably in last half hour which is an important element in a sustained upward movement. Volatility increased significantly from circa 13:30 with a number of lucky buyers snapping up some bargain prices and the price returning to its upward trajectory shortly after. Could this unusual activity be laying the foundation for a move towards a new ATH? The trend remains firmly on track upwards so it looks like there's still plenty of juice left in this move. Any views from the skilled resident chartists? | servicewash
14/5/2024 01:09 | We have seen it far too often, but have been around long enough not to rise to it. I am far too old to join in the banter. I do sense some desperation in his posts though, which is sad to see if true. | palwing32
13/5/2024 22:13 | palwing It seems steveberyl on the PET thread fits the archetype deluded fantasist pet shareholder model perfectly. | fenners66
12/5/2024 14:37 | Yes indeed. Tomorrow or Tuesday could be a bloodbath when the penny drops. It's the rinse, repeat cycle all over again. Seems to be a 5 yearly cycle. "One day Rodders, one day" springs to mind. | palwing32
12/5/2024 02:06 | palwing32 - seems the gamblers on the PET thread are getting despondent again.... crocodile tears from some who already made a gain and sold out prior to the weekend. You can see some of the trades. | fenners66 |
