An unfortunate end to the day.

The share price fell with the US market, closed this morning's gap, dropped out of the ascending channel and is close to filling the gap from Tuesday at 5420.

Looking on the bright side the higher highs and higher lows are still in place.

5790 will wait for another day.

In the twinkling of an eye the euphoria of Mr Powell intimating a rate cut in September the Sahm Rule has the market in fear mode at the prospect of a recession. No pleasing the US market either!

Following the gap up on opening the share price later dropped back to test 5514 which held. Today another gap on opening to take it back into the ascending channel.

The target is the top of a range at 5790 which is likely to be strong resistance so maybe another gap or zoom.

The US market is nigh on certain that there will be a September cut so I expect Mr Powell will say that something along the lines that inflation is moving in the desired direction and the economy remains strong. Which the market will take as confirmation of a September cut.

Is it priced in, probably but the US market likes to spike so maybe there will be one this evening.

Yes AI is going to do all sorts of wonderous things but not just yet.

A lot of US and UK data tomorrow. The MPC may even beat the FOMC to a rate cut!!

Good evening Mr b15 - 20 years of pretty charts, don't think I could take the excitement :)So will Mr P give any positive hints on a cut in Sept?, is it already priced in?I see AI / semi conductor tech have bounced today on AMD Inc numbers, will folks jump back from small caps? - sorry for off topic but it does impact US indices thus the UK.

Consider the "hours and hours" time well spent in your pursuit of attaining price action analysis. Rome was not built in a day and you do not get silver in a day.

Another 15-20 years of chart analysis may get you a gold.

I clock your deliberate mistake and I spent hours and hours checking your pretty chart and couldn't see what you were in about, I even went into another site to produce a graph and still couldn't understand what you were talking about.....so my diligence and time is once again not worthy of a silver :(

Well spotted. I wondered who would be the first to spot that mistype.

I have corrected previous mistypes with the correct figure namely 5514 and no you can't have silver for spotting it.......

You are experiencing the 'wall of worry', the bane of investors who are unhappy when their share drops and are happy when it starts to rise quickly followed by concern of when to sell.

Look for higher highs and higher lows. When they cease time to consider the sell.
