Hi mjc Meant to post earlier but got sidetracked. I'm not too certain that the film and TV productions are back to normal. Facilities by ADF (ticker ADF) stated the following in their finals 26th April, they are UK based so may be different for the US and Canada I don't know:"Although the impact of the Strikes on the film and HETV industry has carried on into the first few months of 2024 with producers having to reorganise the schedules of all relevant parties, ADF expects the situation will continue to normalise as the first half of the year progresses before returning to a full second half, more in line with pre-Strike levels."

The share price is in one of its customary ranges mostly between 5160 and 5300.

I have drawn two blue trend lines which although appear to be a symmetrical triangle are not because the share price is not moving up and down between them. They simply indicate trend levels.

The dashed red line at 5350 is the last minor high which as a minimum the share price has to move and hold above. A break and hold above the down sloping blue line would be encouraging but a break and hold above the last major high at 5684 would support the probability of an attempt at a new high.

Release of 1st Qtr results on 03 September may decide direction.

AHT, which I have held for 10 years and is my most profitable investment, made its gains when interest rates were very low and the £ was very cheap vs the dollar. Adjust for the $/£ 1.10 to the now 1.32 and you the share price around its all time high of £62 factor in the interest rate effect which is distinctly negative for this business and I estimate share price would have been over £70. I have sold two thirds of my holding over the years because it was too big a proportion of my PF.

I have held several companies which listed in the US all have done badly since. So if they move I shall sell hoping to benefit from any short term boost to the share price

first quarter figures due on Tuesday.I am fairly confident that these will be reasonable.Film and tv is a substantial business in its own right in Canada,struggled a lot during the strike but should have improved and therefore the bottom line.

Proxy advisers ISS and Glass Lewis recommend opposing the $14 Million pay deal for CEO Horgan.

It represents a significant deviation from UK market practice and is considered excessive.

Glass Lewis also concerned regarding the opportunities available to the CEO under the long term incentive plan.

AHT defended the proposed pay deal citing Horgan's experience and track record over the past 5 years.

Shareholders at the annual meeting in September will consider the deal.

Per advfn aht p/e is 14.5 whereas United rentals is 19.7.
Aht record has been just as good as United so I do not understand why there is a 35% divergence in the p/e ratios.
if AHT p/e was 19.7 the price would be £71.55!

Your 5 mins viewing that vid was 4.5 minutes longer than me. Over the years I've looked at a number of such videos and most of them are very overly complicated.

I've provided a link below which is one of the good ones at analysing the S&P500. The chart analysis is common to all methods of trading the S&P500 such as Spread Betting, CFD, Options, etc.

I use a few more TA Indicators than shown in the video but the two moving averages and trend lines are the basics.

I'm pleased that you are pleased that I am pleased.

AHT/URI is not as bad as you suggest.....but there's always a BUT.

Using the closing SPs on the 01 August and the 08 August AHT was -5.09% and URI -3.80%

BUT since the start of 2024 AHT is -2.96% and URI +21.54% not so good is it.
