AAZ - aha, Minsk talks will be on,,,, (France has said),,, Thursday in Geneva & Monday in Moscow... let's hope they can stop the bloodshed until they find a resolution,,, which at the very least will stop more deaths.... Cheers Wan :-)

@mf: regarding your post on IBS treatments, you don't really need to diagnose which type of IBS it is as it is symptomatic treatment and you can't really make it worse with the available treatments, just a doctor's perspective.

I am not invested in 4D and don't know anything about it. I have not dared touching any pharmas for some time after losing 90%+ on a couple some time back, despite all the fireworks with the pharmas recently. I however do feel the pain for holders considering today's drop.

Couple of thoughts:-

1. It is very difficult to bring Azerbaijan to the peace talks as Aliyev has a firm stance that Armenia should give back all of Azerbaijan lands including NK and then they will discuss some sort of arrangement to make sure Armenians in NK are safe. Of course, this will never cut ice with Armenia.

2. The other option to bring Azerbaijan to the table will be to halt their military advance. It appears that today Armenians have successfully checked Azerbaijan's advance in the south around Djebrail area. Armenia is reporting a crushing defeat, but I think the truth is somewhere in the middle and for the first time today I have not seen any triumphant reports from the Azerbaijan side.

3. So, perhaps counterintuitively, if Armenia (or rather NK) regains the territories it lost during the first days of the war, the better chances there are the parties will stop the fighting and the conflict will be half-frozen again until the next flare up.

4D and ODX gave me a double whammy kick in the proverbials today, very sore and maybe not going to get a whole lot better anytime soon. Bit fed up of a flat portfolio each day. I notice the US streaking ahead again today yada yada.

Edit - DSV +6.7% today Wan, so not all bad. A turn in fortunes there i hope.

Aljazeera news, on the telebox now, saying there will be talks, AZER in Geneva, ARM in Moscow or vice versa, won't meet each other but will meet the Minsk group leaders (USA, France & Russia)....... Cheers Wan :-)

From a Putin interview. It seems as long as Az are not attacking Armenia Putin seems happy to watch and seems to think some way to being settled. Looks like he doesn't like the Armenian guy to much.



"To our great regret, the hostilities continue to this day, and they are not being conducted on the territory of Armenia," Russian President Vladimir Putin told in his interview to local Rossiya 24 channel.

@fuji: thanks for the response, actually they had $36.3m after tax profit first half of the year and that too with a rather low average selling price of under 1500 an ounce. I expect the second half will be solid and hence can't understand why it is not appreciating especially considering the strike is off.
I'm not entirely sure what difference it makes to how many shares are there, its the market cap that eventually matters?

I sold half my spreadbet at 166 10 days ago and bought half of that back at 115 this afternoon. It's frustrating though because when DP did the IG interview he was bullish about everything but didn't mention Blautix until pushed at the end. That was the clue that both the results weren't brilliant but the best is yet to come

The 4D result was good: it has the potential to become the first choice treatment for IBS as it treats both types of IBS as well as the existing treatments for each type with a better safety profile. That might sound meh but it means doctors don't need to diagnose what type of IBS patients have or risk making matters worse. And 30% of IBS sufferers are both hard and loose and so nothing helps themBut only helping 25%, while the same as existing treatments, has clearly disappointed some. They need to licence it out now

A wise man once told me - you don't need to read any of a pharmacy RNS to tell if its good or not, just the first line.

They either "announce" it (bad/fail/disappointing)

or they are "pleased to announce"

4D was the former, and then the RNS went on to give a broadly positive spin on ok-ish results, which is very common in pharma.

Perhaps the frothiness (it was 36p less than 3 months ago) had a stellar pass built in.

The real trick is to ignore the noise - a phase III funded by someone else or licensing deal will de-risk a huge chunk of the company and they can focus on the REAL stuff.

Wanobi didn't even see the RNS over at DDDD until it was too late, ADVFN didn't flag it up initially. Only after reading the RNS several times I realised management had put a very positive spin on results that at best can be described as positively neutral.
