As mentioned earlier, it looks like a short term Volatility Contraction Pattern, which normally precedes a break out north. But in this case the timescale for a VCP is relatively short, so it is not a wholly reliable indicator.

Feels like there's a bit more on both bid and ask this week, but not a great deal of buying. Bid at 19.00 looked quite strong, being tested, this is where a chartist's opinion would be valuable

Bryet, by 31/12/19 we may have done in excess of 25 drills to find new reserves and the target production is 20k bopd.Do the math on the potential net profit on 20k per day at current oil prices and stick a reasonable PE ratio on it, and I don't think a market cap of £1.2billion is unreasonable. But yes I agree it would be nice to get back to 30p during the rest of 2018.

Every few weeks somebody comes up with £1 a share if only they were right but in my opinion they are not just to get up to 30p would be nice.

We will shortly be entering a period of a number of months (perhaps many months through both 2018 and 2019 as well) where news flow will be almost weekly.Monthly production numbers, spuds, drilling results, (hopefully) flow rates, 6 month numbers. An exciting time to be an Amer investor. Also the results will dictate our future, good results and we could be £1 per share by 31/12/2019.

Perhaps if a blue poster started a new thread so that any nuisance posters could be moderated (that doesn't mean banning valid negative comments), to allow martin and TDH to venture back?

Any volunteers?

Got any particular posters in mind who have "little to contribute for the greater good."?

The whole nature of this thread has changed in the last 2 or 3 months.

Although always welcoming to newcomers, I find the recent influx of newish posters are generally antagonistic with little, if anything, to contribute for the greater good.

In the past, apart from the odd newby outburst (and VICTOR !), this wasn't the theme of the previous two threads where everyone was civil, helpful and contributed with knowledge and good humour.

If we could get back to that I, at least, would be pleased and hopefully TDH and MN would continue posting.

Horrid market conditions.... GTE up 4.5%, PXT up 3%, GPRK up 1.5%

Well, I am not yet so absurd as to post that I am much richer than a stranger on a bulletin board who I know nothing about, but I have heard that due to cuts it is much more difficult to get people sectioned these days. In the real world, a very good day for AMER in horrid market conditions and a very bullish looking setup.

I would be richer today had I acted on the insights of Marnewton. It's a great pity that the likes of Marnewton and TDH now refrain from posting due to the moronic mutterings of others.

well I'm 56, I drive a 16 month old Ferrari engined Alfa and have loads of properties. Never looked at a chart in my life but I'm doing ok thanks. I can't see the point in making money if you're happy with an old clunker and a pair of vintage speakers - why bother? Presumably chartists like Martin are doing well out of their analysis but it's for spending isn't it?

marnewton - just to say keep posting. I remember your excellent chart analysis before the big rise at PANR. Keep it coming

Still think a candle's main use is to try and get laid.

Edit - everyone can now go for the 10,000

Martin, it would be a shame to see you go. The longer I spend investing the more I've found myself using TA to help drive the profits higher, and your insights and viewpoints I've found very insightful. I hope you take the time to continue posting.

A shame to see marnewton go, I remember him making some astonishingly accurate predictions for the Gkp share price when it had been pumped up to £4.50 and was about to collapse and impale thousands of PIs on its vertiginous spike. There are a number of people I'm sure who wished they'd listened to him back then...I don't quite get the antagonistic reactions that chart analysis so often engenders; since I've started taking account of charts and other technical metrics I've banked a lot more profits, and, perhaps most importantly, dodged or at least curtailed some potentially significant losses.I see the contributions of chartists like any other on these boards; some are worth your attention, others are not.
