It's because they know news is coming plus a reflection on the new CEO appointment which, I understand, has been received well by entities close to the sector.

It looks like there may be other departures in due course, you never know Stratex may finally become a dynamic company that the market likes.

The new CEO has a history of adding shareholder value in bucket loads.

Charles,

I think when directors award themselves share options for free then that is "self benefaction".

When directors buy shares with their own money then that is confidence in their own company.

IMO :-)

I think that the guidance on directors owning shares in a Company is clear.
Directors are encouraged to own shares and Stock options in the company they manage to align their interests with those of the shareholders of the Company, subject to the Rules and Legislation. Indeed in some companies it is obligatory.

Directors investing in the companies in which they serve as officers could be accused of self benefaction. Indeed, buying their company's stock could fool punters into believing that a gold mine was something other than a geologist standing at the top of a hole and cause the price to rise. Let us be thankful our directors have not done that. I can think of at least one other AIM miner that has cost shareholders millions by allowing them to think the mine is worth a fortune and when the price has risen to its all time high, sold all their shares AND CRASHED THE PRICE. I am saying don't always look at the negatives, try considering some positives as well.

You say that and yet some of us will have many thousands pounds paper profits even at 1.75p having bought at the 1.15p-1.5p lows.

The problem with lack of director buying is that there has been none for years and all this time the company is paying brokers to put a price of multiples on it. The BoD don't believe their own bulls hit and they expect you to. As it turns out they were right not to invest.

For it to be sensible tax wise don't they need 5% or more?Entrepreneurs tax relief and all that?

But it helps to support shareholders' confidence when directors put some of their own money into the company they manage on behalf of shareholders imo

A company director cannot be expected to buy shares in their company. Neither is it fair to judge a company's value, prospects or reputation on the basis of director share ownership. I would PREFER that the directors have a similar motivation as myself in the companies I invest in and I see a lack of this with Stratex. However, directors can buy shares in any company they choose or alternatively they can invest in premium bonds or a cash ISA.

I was referring to the inferred lack of incentive really and they are equivalent in that respect. It's not like he'd be taking a juicy dividend on any owned shares. The options are essentially worthless without a significant increase in price performance to compensate for purchase costs and taxes. We don't know what Emma P's circumstances are, there may be very good reasons why she cannot invest.

He has options but options are not share ownership Romeike. Not that I'd expect him to buy in just yet, he's barely had time to clear Bob's desk yet. Priestly on the other hand ! No share purchases in all the time she's been here now sends out a very poor message.

Rubbish, the new CEO has a considerable number of options (6 million?) to buy shares at the current price. This is a huge incentive to improve the share performance as much as possible.

Now with Bob gone the current BoD hold less than half of one percent of the total shares in issue.

Punters have this marked as AVOID.
