"cash-rich predator" Going to have to pay a lot more at this rate.
The biggest holder is Giorgio Girondi with around 22% mostly acquired at 60p.

Virtually debt-free, occupying a niche position in ever-expanding global markets. I continue to hold in hopeful expectation that a cash-rich predator will make them an offer they can't refuse.

This share is pushing up through some strong headwinds in the market. Think this is about the only share I have which has not suffered a pounding in the last month.

The chart is thing of beauty. The last few buys went through today at 3.20. Fabulous business - the word now seems to be out.

Porvair set for more outperformance, says Peel Hunt
Peel Hunt has increased its target price for filtration technology group Porvair (PRV.L) on the back of strong profitability and a belief that 'there is more to come'.

Analyst Andrew Shepherd-Barron maintained a 'buy' rating and increased the target price from 335p to 342p (current price 296p) on the shares based on 2017 full year expectations that he considers 'highly deliverable'.

'On what we consider to be very reasonable assumption, both earnings per share and price target could be 37% higher,' he said. 'New products are capitalising on a strong market position and building an ever-increasing base of recurring earnings.'

Profit growth has been ahead of expectations on an average 30% for several years driven by 'a mix of new products, contract wins, a continuing search for productivity and, more recently, an improving macro economy', said Shepherd-Barron, adding that 'we believe such outperformance can continue'.

This brings p/e down to about 18, I think, which isn't cheap but it's OK for a growing company with a strong niche like Porvair.

Class company, evidenced by today's results. Long term holder and no plans to exit for a long time as long as growth and profits continue. Well done PRV.

Very good results.Flagged up in the last trading update but they still read well.

They might be highly rated rated on PER but they are still growing.

"Looking forward to 2014 the Board is planning significant capital projects in 2014 to provide new and upgraded plants in the UK, US and further increases to production capacity throughout the Group. Capital expenditure is likely to rise to around three times the normal level"

Agree Lurki0, I have had one or two hard hits on some of my recent dealings and the general market looks recently to be a bit of a nightmare but I have no worries holding Porvair, excellent forward vision and good results.

PRV finished in the blue today?? What's the world coming to??! Lets hope the trend up continues; looking forward to the inevtiable sudden 5-10% bounce in a single day again.
