Quite so standish11. Also those very industries in the US which are currently going great guns (autos, planes, steel & aluminium production)are the ones in which PRV is nicely embedded. I think the probability of the next IMS being very positive is pretty high. But each to his own,DYOR, etc. etc.

The Interims showed that profits had been adversely affected by the strength of Sterling so the recent weakening of Sterling v the US Dollar would surely benefit Porvair bearing in mind their US interests. The outlook statement was very bullish and there has not been any negative trading news so no obvious reason for the drop in the share price
All IMO.

Any thoughts as to why the price is dropping???
Could it be linked to the pound dropping relative to the dollar?
They seem to have started falling around the same time.

Painter,
Looking at the trades, a late trade for 25K shares went through @approx 295 its registered time is early afternoon, just before the price started falling
So possible a shake down to fill the order? or was it the cause of the fall. Having bought today, hope its the former.

Thanks for the clarification. I agree they are a quality, prudent outfit as demonstrated by the speed they are able to compile and publish their results statements.

They have consistently under promised and over delivered since I bought in late 2011/early 2012 from memory and i'll be looking for a point to re-enter (if it re-occurs).

It's because they're booking revenues for the large gasification contracts (as they deliver the parts) but not the profits until the contracts are closer to completion. As long as they go smoothly, you'll find a big jump in the operating profit over the next couple of years. It's the prudent way of accounting for it - as one would expect from this management.

I was somewhat disappointed by the reduction in margin in the microfiltration division - whilst Revenue increased by 48% (24.5m to 36.3m), operating profit only increased by 15% (3.5m to 4.0m).

Quality company though, just not cheap enough for me anymore.

Good results yesterday.EPS up 25%.Profit up 27%.Positive outlook statement.

They need underlying growth to keep rising to justify the high PER but are building for the future by increasing capacity.

"The consolidation and expansion of our operations at New Milton (UK), into a facility acquired in February 2014, and the addition of machining capacity in Fareham to enable aviation and industrial filtration growth. Aviation sales have grown strongly recently and we need more capacity"

Yep - due on 23rd. Hoping that there is some more good news to come in terms of outlook. There has been in the past and the management have been a class act in recent years.

Agree lurkio have filtered someone and will keep thread Porvair focused from now on. Would like to hear a little more detail about the management buy out rumour from willydoctor if he is able to provide it. Like how closely is his information source linked with Porvair etc.... I am aware that this is just a rumour Dr so any answer you give i will take with caution and I am perfectly aware that nothing may come of it.

Yeah probably a blow on the head or he was picked on as a child and is now seeking his revenge, still he was perceptive on guessing that you are a medic but I would gone a stage further and would say your name William or that your a gynecologist that treats males only. That is good news about the possible buy out Doc.
