Best one is share prophets. Sell a certain company because it has one big asian customer. Should be a penny share by now.

buffy - re SCSW, quite true, with ALT as a prime example.
I also wait for the heat to evaporate, but their overall performance is good.

They are pshevlin, but he buys quite a lot lower than others are able to. The returns from buying after reading his articles are quite a bit lower.

For a long time absolutely the best 'tip sheet' around though.

I make good money from reviewing his old tips when the heat has gone, and they have dipped due to a short term issue.

You just have to look at the overall portfolio gains in SCSW and they are well above anything else you can get in the market.

Then again SCSW bought STY in the same issue(may16) it tipped that. At the end of the day you have to take them with a pinch of salt, make your own mind up

The sister publication Smallcap Sharewatch also holds those two.

I'm afraid that the Momentum Investor is unnecessary if you subscribe, as I do, to SCSW.

I don't think my post was clear, johnv: apologies.

I hold both Pays and Phtm and was therefore interested to read your post but I suspect tipsheets are nice little earners in more ways than one as the tipped shares (tipees?) can be sold into the almost inevitable price rise after publication. Agreed one has to have a good track record as a tipsheet in order to be able to do this but, like insider trading it must go on. Always comforting to see one's own holdings listed under editorial holdings but not sure how meaningful that really is.

Just pointing out, that Pays is highly regarded compared to other companies by the editor

I often wonder if these tipsheets (and I am subscribed to one myself) make more money from their own holdings or from running the tipsheet. Nice work if you can get it, think I. It was why I stopped subscribing for a few years.

This month's Momentum investor tipsheet editorial holdings are only pays and phtm. All the companies they tip over the months and these two are the only ones they hold.

They would then have to pay $10bn!

JL was pretty clear - PAYS will be looking for a major acqn to grow revenue and profits - with target market cap of $6bn........... dividends can be payed out by whoever takes us over at $6bn :)

A dividend could also indicate that the growth story is coming to an end! Hopefully won't see one for a while, would rather see excess cash reinvested in the business with the share price increasing to reflect this.

A dividend promise would make the pension fundies more interested.

macro or no macro we all know that PAYS is growing very nicely but that is not why we keep buying. We keep buying because we all have this sense that another cracking deal is imminent.
