"A Letter from Heaven" written to invite an open conversation about where people go when they pass away

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 5, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Once a model and PlayBoy Bunny, author Yvonne Riley Bonadio decided to follow Christ wholeheartedly during the "Jesus Revolution" of the 70's. After marrying and becoming a mother of two daughters, her love for her children and faith blended as she began writing children's books. However, it wasn't until her daughter Yvette passed away from a vehicle accident in 2000, that she began to find comfort in picturing her in heaven by writing and publishing her new book, "A Letter from Heaven."

"It's essential for parents to feel comfortable, while navigating these tough conversations, as it helps children process their emotions and understand the realities of loss and the importance of God's love and timing."

Based on the personal reflections on Bonadio's life during her first stages of grieving, the story offers hope and a path for parents and loved ones, after the loss of a child. She describes how she envisions her daughter's arrival in heaven and what she does while there, in the form of a love letter, from daughter to mother.

"Since the loss of my almost eleven-year-old daughter," Bonadio said. "I began to find comfort in picturing her in heaven and wanted to share how I imagine her living out her life there. Additionally, the descriptions of heaven in my book are based on scriptures found in the Bible."

From a mother's heart, Bonadio shares how God may showed up to comfort and give hope during the most different stages of grief. She believes that her pain has given her a new perspective on life; a perspective she thinks is a part of her daughter's legacy and love for her. She encourages grieving parents and families to picture their loved ones living new, peaceful lives in heaven.

"I want to share the hope of Heaven and discuss loss openly and compassionately with their loved ones and children," Bonadio said. "It's essential for parents to feel comfortable, while navigating these tough conversations, as it helps children process their emotions and understand the realities of loss and the importance of God's love and timing."
