I will enjoy my weekend... not like some who will be worried about Monday morning.

I am looking forward to next week.

Here is a head at Mclaren talking about Nanene it's on the Mclaren Wesbite.

It was his comments having seen the performance when using Nanene in carbon fibre

'Jonathan Neale tells you everything you always wanted to know about graphene'

“We think the properties of graphene are pretty mind-blowing. Some of the mechanical properties of graphene-enhanced composites can be improved by double-digit percentages compared to regular carbon-fibre composites. In engineering, we often talk about improvements in terms of fractions of a per cent; to suddenly introduce improvements of this order is incredible, but it gives you a very clear perspective on just how much we’re discovering about the properties of graphene, and just how much it’s re-defining our existing understanding of materials science.

Previously, when you relied on regular resins to hold the carbon-fibre layers together, there’s the possibility that those plies could shear apart – a common and well-known Achilles’ heel of composites. By introducing other structures within the resin, you can increase the shear toughness.”

Of course Johnathan the COO at Mclaren is also in on the VRS scam. A number of other large companies have fallen for it too. :-)

@superG but why use the old name in the new paper and why doesn't the spec of XT Graphene in the paper match that of Nanene?

"Just on the basis of educating some of our less able detractors, here is the rns relating to #nanene feb 2017 , trademarks get backdated to the filing date not granting date #deadend"

LOL. On it.

Yes it does clearly state that but I think a 2-8% improvement in strength isn't really "extremely positive about the benifits".

They were also very clear to make the point that the gains came from the large lateral sizes of 5-10um. Nanene as opposed to XT Graphene doesn't have these properties according to its latest spec sheet.

"dr tina bass.

The paper clearly states @2DTECH ,a company that is part of the @versarien group, as the source of the graphene that was tested. And the conclusions are extremely positive about the benefits of #vrs #graphene"

I strongly believe other 'graphene' was tested by Mclaren and didn't work, hence the appearance at the UOM by Mclaren to find some that did work.

UOM had just finished testing Nanene aka XT (VRS news) in carbon fibre and so it came to pass and Mclaren raved about the gains using Nanene.

The trademark registration of Nanene was 2016. See below. This paper tweeted by NR today was published Oct 2018.

Status:Registered
Mark text:NANENE
File date:30 November 2016
Classes:1, 2, 7, 11, 12, 17, 28, 40, 42

There was previous work in October 2016 where they called it XT Graphene

Also annouced here

Is this paper a rehash of that work or new work? If new work why call it XT Graphene rather than Nanene when the trademark had been around for 2 years and why has the platelet lateral size jumped from 0.1um to 5um minimum ?

The graphene used was the XT grade purchased from 2-DTech Graphene, Manchester, UK and used as received. The epoxy resin and hardener employed were NTPT ThinPregTM 513 system (NTPT).

dr tina bass.

The paper clearly states @2DTECH ,a company that is part of the @versarien group, as the source of the graphene that was tested. And the conclusions are extremely positive about the benefits of #vrs #graphene

Ha

From the post I assume that's been a debate.

XT, silly sod, as per the post it was just the name pre thinking up a launch/trademark name.

Covered that one long long ago, I did ask what XT meant way way back and know the answer.

Would you rather it goes down every Friday instead then? Would you rather see your investment sitting at 1.28 or at 1.82? I'm a LTH and now have over £60k of my SIPP invested here and can't draw on it for 9 years so today's share price is immaterial for me really but I'd still rather see the price higher than lower!Should somebody make a bid for the company over the weekend, would you rather see the bid price a multiple of 1.28 or of 1.82? I know what I would rather.

Correct Mryl at least 1 Thursday every year needed to cover good `Friday and anytime xmas or being Boxing Day falls on a Friday.

Just Joking of course but I don't want to be out any day in the coming fews weeks.

Different for chart type traders they just play whatever range it is in so it matters not where it is, or what the company does.

Superg1 where do get that info from?

On NR tweet mentioned Renishaw however no author or acknowledgment refer to RSW in the paper, they only used one of their Raman Spectro ?

Hellloooo Jacko, come iiinnnnn Jacko.

I know you only registered days ago and it's your only post so far in ADVFN but can you please answer the question.

The point of where I get the info from.

What Info, I'm guessing you mean Rolls Royce. Could you clarify please.

@ellissj it says 2D-Tech supplied the graphene but the spec given doesn't match the Nanene spec. Maybe the graphene used was some sort of higer grade. Also looks like XT Graphene has been around since 2016.

If VRS can consistently produce GnP or FLG Graphene with min 5um platelet size as used in the study why not say so? Why only 0.1um stated in the Nanene tech sheet?

Re 2Dtech xt grade graphene in composite study paper. Seems Toray supplied the carbon fibre, very strong grade. High end products uses. Very encouraging to my mind. Aimo. Best ellis

"The carbon fibers used in this work were PAN-based T700 fibers from Toray."

"Japan T700S - The highest strength, standard modulus fiber available, with outstanding processing characteristics for filament winding, weaving and prepregging. This never-twisted fiber is used in a variety of industrial and recreational applications, including pressure vessels such as natural gas vehicle (NGV) storage tanks and SCBA breathing tanks. Available in 6K, 12K, and 24K tow sizes. T700G - Enhanced tensile modulus and adhesion properties over T700S. Applications of this never-twisted fiber include aircraft and high performance sporting goods where demanding conditions require superior composite properties. Available in 12K tow sizes."

You didn't reply.

I'm guessing you meant the bit about Rolls royce as a VRS customer, the main part of that news was in an RNS but yes it is Rolls Royce.
