After the golf day I said my expectation was £2 - £3 by year end, I have seen nothing since to lower that expectation.

Best wishes - Spike

Slid81, am I right in thinking you work for FGR?

I don't think anybody could argue that the UOM wouldn't know how to assess graphene quality, so they must be happy with what they are getting from FGR (whatever it is).

Shorters are successfully exploiting the fear that prevails in the wider markets and the nervousness of some investors due to the length of time it is taking to land a real proper order. I understand this as there are some despicable liars at the helm of many an AIM company. My judgement is NR is not one of them but the longer it takes, the more people will loose their nerve. If you believe VRS will land an order, then now is the time to buy as it will rocket when one lands. I still think £2+ for Xmas, possibly by close Monday if one (or China deal) does land. I am fortunate enough to have a cash injection of late so nibbling away at these low prices. I STILL don't have shares in AJ Bell account (yawn!) but would not sell if I did.

So, I'd be the first to admit that I don't really have a brain for science so a lot of the technical stuff (try as I might!) does I'm afraid go over the top of my head. However, you don't have to be a brainbox to work out that the following guys do know what they're talking about and can, I'm sure, pick which company they choose to work for....and I think they would choose the best....

DR STEPHEN HODGE was previously a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Cambridge Graphene Centre at the University of Cambridge, Teaching Fellow in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Graphene Technology and bye-fellow at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge. He graduated from the University of Bath with a MChem in Chemistry and then obtained his PhD in Nanomaterials Chemistry at Imperial College London, before joining the Cambridge Graphene Centre in 2014.

DR DENIS KOLTSOV is Chair of ISO TC 229 Nanotechnology Standards Group at ISO (International Organization for Standardization). ISO TC 229 has already published 65 ISO standards in the field of nanotechnologies and has a further 43 standards under development. Their focus is on developing a set of peer reviewed standards for graphene and closely related materials that will facilitate the ability of producers and users of these materials to have confidence in the level of performance on a consistent and measurable basis.

DR MARTIN KEMP is Chairman of the Nanomaterials Committee of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3). Of particular note, Dr Kemp has written the new standard for graphene flakes (British Standard Institution BSI PAS 1201:2018 'Properties of Graphene Flakes - Guide') which was sponsored by InnovateUK and will be published in August 2018.

spid - exactly as I thought - unable to answer my simple question, and doing so by the most obvious ploy - trying to divert attention - what a looser you are.

Agreed with Roger, they are wired differently to us and desperately just want attention, even just name calling them gives them the attention they want. Every time you react in any way they get pleasure. It’s bizarre really but I actually kind of feel sorry for them. In the time they’ve been posting I’ve made £thousands and thousands much of which has been top sliced but I still have a core holding which I plan on holding for years.

spid: just in case you missed it:

spid: A simple straight forward question:

If FRG graphene is superior to VRS graphene (+Nanene) WHY has the US Graphene Council asked VRS to be the launch client for their Verified Graphene Producer Programme? (see details below)

I would submit - for the same reason the UK Centre for Process Innovation chose VRS (through world wide competitive tender) (see details below).

07/06/2018 Graphene Council Verified Graphene Producer Programme

The Company is pleased to announce that it has been selected to be The Graphene Council's launch client for their 'Verified Graphene Producer' programme, which will independently verify that the Company's Nanene graphene nano platelets meet their demanding standards.

The US-headquartered Graphene Council is the leading platform for people and companies that are interested in the research, development and application of graphene world-wide. Founded in September 2013, more than 4,700 researchers, scientists, students and graphene commercial professionals have already joined. The Graphene Council is the USNC Technical Advisory Group to IEC TC 113, Nano-Electrotechnologies.

Neill: "I am also very pleased that The Graphene Council has selected Versarien to be the launch client of its 'Verified Graphene Producer' programme. Accreditation from The Graphene Council will provide our customers with the assurance that Versarien's graphene is of the highest quality and meets relevant standards.

19/92017 Significant Tender Win

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is very pleased to announce that it has won a single supplier competitive tender for the ongoing supply of nanomaterials, including the Company's graphene, to the Centre for Process Innovation Limited ("CPI"). The evaluation of the tender was based principally on the quality and specification of the graphene to be supplied with additional marks awarded for price and delivery.

Neill Ricketts, CEO of Versarien, commented: "We are very pleased to have been successful in all the tenders we entered into to supply the CPI with our nanomaterials after a competitive process. This provides further significant independent validation of the quality of the materials we are able to supply and we are now moving from supplying graphene in quantities of a few grams to kilogram sized orders.

Sell 100K at 128.25p and buy 100K at 156p. What a price difference.

"Aspect ratio is the ratio of X-Y lateral size to thickness layers.
The larger the aspect ratio the better it is, subject to dispensability."

-------------------------------------------

spid,

a larger aspect ratio is only better for polymer reinforcement, i.e. one thing graphene can do.

it's simply not true to say a larger aspect ratio is better full stop.

as you're aware, graphene isn't just used for structural improvement.

mrly

Out of VRS $9 mil pounds revenue, How much of this has come from graphene sales.

I hope you are aware the bulk price for graphene is around $300k Euro's, VRS production method, isn't scaleable, it can only produce under 1tpa.

Have a read through VRS scale up presentation. page 16, for the past year VRS has only had the capacity of 100g per day, it is going to take you until 2019 to get upto 2.7tpa

Ellis, your link in post 41483 to the Azonano article hasn't been a focus this morning, but I've just given it a tick. For non-experts, but with a scientific slant, it covers graphene's structure, characteristics, production techniques, types/natures and things like functionalization, all in worthwhile but readable detail, beyond the common "general introduction" articles.

SG, I'd support it as worthy of adding to Mike Brenner's Stockopedia three in the header.

Edit: For ref, as posted by ellis
